At one point, students who came to watch chanted: ?Tiger bait 3/8 Tiger bait 3/8?

What's up with the 3/8 part?

I had a buddy that was on the BRPD SWAT team back then and was out there for this. The Team Leader told his snipers that if the guy released Mike out of his cage they were to shoot the tiger to prevent its escape. A LSU Police supervisor interrupted and stated that they were to under no circumstances shoot the tiger and they should just go ahead and shoot the guy if he tried to unlock the cage.

Also, the article doesn’t say it but the guy had a plastic water gun and the “bomb” which turned out to be a brown bag lunch.

I’m going through it now. My taste and smell are unaffected. The highest temp I’ve run is 101. Feels like the flu and so far I’m 48 hours into it.

Took me a few days my mine to go. Started feeling bad Sunday November 8th and lost my taste and smell by dinner Wednesday or early Thursday.

Never noticed if I ran a fever and didn’t have body aches. Just a little congestion, cough and tired.

I’m glad you survived. In the other thread everyone tells me COVID is really fricking serious and I’m stupid if I’m not extremely scared of it!

You’re super lucky. One of the few to make it.

Had it back in late feb and felt a similar except horrible cough and chest pain. Had trouble sleeping.
Went to hospital and got some meds and steroid shot.
Got tested for flu and came back negative. No tests at that time for covid.
Took a bunch of meds as well as Sudafed and big vitamin regimen. Didn’t feel much better.

Must have been covid since no cold could feel like I felt.
Must have given it to dozens of people

I’ll save you the stats, but I’m not the picture of health you’d want to be if you happened to come across the old Ron Ron!

Christmas Eve—in Tyler with the in-laws and started feeling like crap. Cough. Headache. Fever. Blurred vision. Felt like a bad head cold.

Drove back home to Heath, did my santa duties, broke into a cold sweat, went to bed. Slept pretty well. Woke up for Christmas morning and no energy. Major body aches. Suffered through and made it through the day.

Saturday—putting something outdoor furniture together... zero energy and body aches like no other. Major head cold. Went and loaded and unloaded firewood and about died. Took a long, hot shower and almost immediately felt better.

I only took Vick’s strong cough drops and a couple of doses of robitussen.

Had a nice drink before bed, slept well and woke up feeling well Sunday. Didn’t think I had Covid.

Sunday fire pit marshmallows with the kids and a nice cigar...

ZERO smell. Zero taste of the cigar. I’m talking none.
Zero smell. Start thinking Covid and pretty well sure Covid. Younger daughter no smell. No other symptom for her.

Fast forward to today and wife is bad sick. Take her to ER and she tests positive so I get rapid and also test positive.

This is crazy. My wife (no pics) ... perfect health. Me—not perfect. High blood pressure. Large man.

I give it a 3 on scale of 1-10.

Hope anyone else who gets it can get through it like myself. Wife is miserable.
My dad, 74 y/0 with 3 open heart surgeries, and has COPD, got it over Thanksgiving. He was tired, and his O2 sats dropped below 89, so his doctor ordered him home O2. He was over it in a few days. Meanwhile, the newly elected 41 y/o guy from Louisiana, just died. Makes no sense.

I'm in day 9 since testing positive. I am on the mend now, but it was a solid week of fever, zero energy, shortness of breath, aches all over, headaches, with sinus problems, chest congestion, and sometimes feeling like an elephant on my chest. I coughed so much my torso was sore all over, and I re-injured an old groin injury coughing so hard.

It was pretty brutal. I was just tired of feeling like shite. The last two days have been fever free and I'm feeling much better. I'm 54 in average health. I have been diagnosed with high cholesterol. I quit smoking about 15 years ago after smoking for 20+ years. The doctor wouldn't prescribe anything, said I had to ride it out and treat the symptoms. I took over the counter cold/flu meds, tylenol and cough drops along with Vitamin D3. It basically felt like the longest bout of the flu ever. It would ease up for a period of hours then rebound with a vengeance.

I'm so glad it's almost over.

ETA: I lost taste in general for basically the whole week. I could only taste the bitterness of coffee and the salt in meals. Everything I ate or drank was disappointing.
