No good Christmas parties take place at companies bought out by Private Equity.

Some friends of mine in a radio group that was family owned told me the owners went all out, lots of gift given from advertisers, two live bands, huge hall rented and all you can eat and drink.

Then the next year they got bought out by Private Equity. They were told no Christmas Party and their gift from the company was a Ham from Costco.

No possible good can come from attending a company xmas party.

Absolutely true….just show up to let everyone know you were there and then inconspicuously slide out before people start doing shite that can get them fired!

I havent worked many places that had big parties like most. But I did go to a few with girlfriends over the years to theirs and some of the shenanigans I saw I couldn't image happening at places I worked.

Fights, crying, screaming. Just people that drank way too much. Good times

I would never let my Co workers or boss see me out of control like that.

I also now limit myself to 2 drinks at any company party. Lesson learned.

Never be the drunkest person at the company party.

Many years ago - Chief compliance officer got so fricked up and fell and knocked her head and was concussed. Some weird cultish people at the company surrounded her and started speaking in tongues trying to heal her.

She was subsequently fired.

not 100% accurate…at least not all private equity owned businesses. Each office location we have has a really nice restaurant dinner with no set menu and open bar until close.

Parent company is in the UK. They used to fly everyone in during this week from all over the world. Last time they did it a VP over there took out his dong and balls and plopped them in a full beer pint in front of some ladies.

Took forever but he was finally let go months later.

We now just have everyone in the US together after the holidays at the US office. Between dongs in beer and the cost to fly everyone, they have kept it to each country doing their own.

Law firms were crazy places back in the 90's and early 2000's.

And how.

My first firm was relatively tame. I was actually the party animal during the summers. During an interview with King and Spalding in 2001 I think, the guys interviewing me were openly talking about taking summer associates to strip clubs.
