All of next week I'll be in a shite town because of work, having to attend boring pointless meetings.

But, I'm looking forward to getting to my hotel every night and burying myself into Starfield.

Exactly what I was coming to post. That’s the most stressful game in a long time. I didn’t even finish it.

Elden Ring was an amazing game until I got to the very end. Then it just didn't feel like playing anymore haha i dont know what happened. I guess when you first start there is so much to explore, but then it just gets narrower and narrower. Still a fantastic game though

Average gamer is mid 30s.

There are more adult gamers now than kids. 70% are grown men.

Its only going to go up because people who grew up playing games as a whole are not likely to stop.

Video games aren't Pac-Man and Pong anymore. The "grown men don't play video games" narrative died 20 years ago.

It’s one of the cheapest hobbies out there even including PC gaming as long as you’re not “collecting.” My guilty pleasure of late is playing Madden while I’m in conference calls since it is usually hands off until I’m on offense.

Yeah man we’re a new generation. Your old tired generation doesn’t get our new way of thinking. This is the future man

Not saying that it’s easy by any stretch, but ER is actually considered to be the easiest of From’s offerings. Plenty more pain where that came from

Yeah I'd agree with that. I pretty much roll through Elden Ring until I get to the very end. Amazing game tho and can't wait till the DLC comes out. It's supposed to be huge.

I must be one of the few who did. I remember waiting in line to get some new releases first year at LSU in the 2010s but those were the first games I bought and never finished. Didn’t dislike them, just was so distracted by freshman year of college I had some spirts later where I’d rip Skyrim for a few months or some RTS games I used to play when I was much younger but since then I can barely make myself pick up a controller. Used to play the frick out of Halo and Xbox/PC games my entire childhood. The fire just burnt out I suppose.

I expect that a number of 30-40 something dudes who play video games aren't "gamers" by any stretch.

I find a new game every year or two and play it a few times a week for 20-30 minutes. FIFA, MW2, etc. It's just a way to shut my brain off for a few minutes. I don't really care about getting better at it or progressing, it just provides more engagement than watching TV for a half hour.

If I had something similarly fun and a little more productive/useful to do at 8:30PM on a weekday - like a golf sim or something - I'd likely do that instead.
