I feel like BR has been on a decline for decades now. At least that’s what everyone invariably says.

I think LSU, the state government and the plants (and supporting companies) will keep some areas decent but it's not the city it was 20-30 years ago. Entire areas that used to be nice are dangerous and shitty now.

The development of SBR can't go any further until it's in another parish.

Man, if it's true that the reason they're citing is that he didn't separate the officers when he was there, not as a cop, but off-duty as the involved officers' union rep, this is going to cost the city.

Not the language I would have used but the same sentiments I have.

Everyone knows the firing was politically motivated. The question at this point is whether they bothered with proper procedure or just said “pack your shite and get out.”

If police civil service protections are anything like the ones for state employees, a failure to follow procedure can get the whole thing invalidated regardless of whether the reason for firing was valid.

However you want to say it, there is no way these two did it by the book. At the end of the day, BR taxpayers will pay for this mistake. And that is besides the fact they are just alienating themselves from the entire department.

And theadvocate.com is asking what do we(the general public) think the cause for a lack of new officers may be. Ain't got to be a genius.

if this were the case, the stores would be there

does he honestly think a store like whole foods, fresh market, or robert's would work in NBR?

That goes to show you just how little he knows about business. And he's a contributor to the NBR economic redevelopment program.

If these areas are really gold mines, then he should have absolutely no problem courting investors to build there. Instead, he has to rely on the taxpayers to subsidize what he knows will be a massive boondoggle.

Hey officers of BRPD! The City of St. George is going to need a police department and lots of folks out here will support you and support real police work.

I live about a half mile inside of the damn city limits too. I walk my dog across the proposed boundary almost every evening

Start the petition for annexation.

ETA: I say we get an emoji holding a sign with "Geaux St. George" for this board. Just saying.

Sorry. St. G organizers have already said they will be contracting with EBRSO for law enforcement coverage.

He couldn’t be annexed if he’s already in the city of BR limits.

Can't if you're already part of a city unless that city agrees to let you leave the city. Unincorporated areas of the parish can start a petition to make their own city or petition an existing city to annex them, but once you're in a city, you're there.

AFAIK they have no plans to have an actual police department. They will continue to use sheriffs as they do now.

Well, they can join the Sheriff’s Department if St. George is going to be “contracting” I assume they’re giving more $ to the Sheriff. Big fan of EBRSO. Always had good interactions with them.

Well I would try and do whatever I could to be a part of St. George and NOT the city of BR.

You don't walk that far. Liesss!

BTW, small world but stalky confession. I made out with a batshit crazy backyard neighbor(her house is almost directly behind you) of yours a few years ago. I met her on POF. She still lives there according to tax data on openbr.

She's kinda hot for a 40s milf. And LOVES anal. But I never got past 2nd base as me and the gf worked shite out and never saw her again.

That whole scene was crawling with ranking officers after the shooting. They're going after Bryan Taylor to try and crush the union and any power they may have, which at this point isn't much anyway. So what I want to know is why aren't the other ranking officers facing the same discipline. But I know why MP is doing this and he will never go after the people currently kissing his arse. What most of you don't see, he's been dismantling the dept from within. He's moved almost all commanders to lesser involved positions and moving the koolaid drinkers in. It will get worse before it gets better.

Gary better circle the wagons because election time is coming and he's gonna need every vote he can get. Broome is public enemy #1 and the opposition is already building it's forces against her. If the right person gets in (I've been speaking to one who's gonna run), MP will have his marching orders from a new general who doesn't see eye to eye with him as it is. He's gonna get the Carl Dabadie treatment and we'll see how he likes the hot seat. Koolaid drinkers will soon follow.

Sad thing is, I believe, there are enough kool-aid drinkers and SJW that will allow SWB to win re-election....twice. Between that and low voter turnout, we get put in the position we are in today.
