They also probably have a lot less morons that can't drive.

Yeah, but if their population suddenly doubles they would then have a lot more idiots on the road. Its simple add and subtraction.

Actually there is a state that has no speed limits. I think it is Montana.

I was just in Montana and they definitely have speed limits.

He could see well enough at that speed. It was the people doing 80 that were the problem

Don’t matter if you are doing 60 or 80 you will get same result when someone brakes hard or gets clipped in tense fog. Perfect example The Big One in NASCAR. Though it’s not foggy you get the idea how the domino effect works.

That fog we had on New Years Eve a few years back was insane. Couldn’t even see a mailbox on your side of the road. Nothing you can do in that situation tbh.

There's an aerial shot of the carnage on the front page of the T-P this morning. Cars are four and five wide, bumper to bumper. No place to go...
Even got the poor fricker who ended up in the water in the pic. Incredible.

Every state has speed limits.

Nixon signed a bill in 1973 that set the federal maximum speed at 55 mph. Clinton repealed that law in 1995. At that time, Montana had no maximum daytime speed. But that only lasted until 1999.

There was a time when Montana experimented with no speed limits between cities. Their LEO community fought to reinstate them

wear a helmet while driving

That’s actually not the worst idea ive ever heard .

A full blown HANS setup and a racing harness would probably prevent A LOT of fatalities in a year.

It’s as simple as not driving faster than you can see. Been running in fog all my life.

Boats and trucks. Don’t go faster than you can see. We never had “ super fog “ though. It was “ that fog is so thick you could cut it with a knife “.

You mean channeling your inner nascar driver while weaving in and out of 35 MPH traffic with inches to spare is a bad idea?

Wasn’t that 12/31/21?

That was, by far, the worst conditions I’ve ever drove in. I was in Prairieville and it was so bad people were WALKING next to cars just to help the drivers know where the middle and sides of the road were. We couldn’t even see our hood and every one was using GPS just it know where curves in the road were in conjunction to communicating with those walking on the road.

That is a friend of mine. He is ok, and honestly looks like he was lucky with how the rest of the vehicles near him fared.
