I'll be living towards uptown on St. Charles in the Tauro and Milan area. Recent college grad starting a career in NOLA. I'd appreciate any advice people have about the area in terms of safety, preferable grocery stores, utilities, elections, etc. Just any words of advice on any part of living in the city would be appreciated! Also any topics you think of that I didn't list are also appreciated.

ETA: I'm from Virginia and was hoping to display my vast collection of Robert E. Lee memorabilia publicly. Surely a historically rich city as New Orleans would appreciate this rich gathering of artifacts?

For real tho any of the small things other than "it's dangerous" would help a lot.

See what happens when you take the down the statues? College grads now feel safe to come back. Mitch was right all along.

You'll be fine. That area has improved a lot over the last few years. It's nicer closer to St Charles and gets a little more marginal as you head toward Claiborne. Even that area has quite a bit of investment going on. Congrats on the move and your career.
