Moving into a new place November 1st. Where can I find affordable furniture?

Looking for something decent as can be obviously, but I've gone to all these stores like Pier 1 and holy shite, I had no idea they were so expensive. I know there's Craig's List but I've heard of a lot of people getting ripped off there. Where did you guys go for yours?

Amazon has some affordable furniture. Looks nice but wont last but a couple years.

It seems people usually get murdered on Craigs List so be careful.
Sounds like you should start with Walmart.

Depends on what city you're moving to. If you're around Lafayette, try WCC Furniture.

Ikea
Overstock always has some good deals on furniture.
Rooms to go..
I think I seen a furniture store advertise a "Columbus day sale"so I would imagine you could find some stuff at a good price.

Oh wow, thanks. Can I ask about the stuff from Amazon? Is there anything you feel is worth it or is all of it made poorly in your opinion?

American Factory Direct will have good stuff at good prices. They have some expensive pieces and they have a lot of shite too, but there some good values to be found.

You might as well invest in some sturdy furniture. If it is too expensive up front you can apply for a loan and pay it off a little at a time. Olindes had 48 months interest free...

Do you have an ikea near you? They have decent stuff that's priced well. Costco also occasionally has some good furniture... that you can return whenever

Rooms To Go is constantly running deals where you buy your furniture with your RTG c/c and get 5 years no interest so long as you don't miss a payment.
I did this for a sectional sofa, ottoman and new bed for my apartment.
ETA: They will also deliver and set everything up. You literally just have to buy it.
Was a huge plus for me living on the 3rd floor.

I furnished my apartment that I'll only be in for a year with stuff from Wayfair.com (shitty quality but it looks good) and a place called American Freight.
American freight has decent furniture at great prices if you're looking for a whole set. Customer service sucks though.

How long do you want the furniture to last?
For an Apartment/house?
My wife and I have bought a few things off of wayfair that have been holding up well. I also bought 2 leather recliners 14 years ago for $200 each from a scratch and dent sale at a furniture store and they are holding up well too. I also see some nice stuff from time to time on those facebook for sale groups.

This.
Tables, shelves, chest of drawers, bed frames are OK to buy online.
Mattress, sofa and chairs buy in person.

If you are planning to buy from a store, in the BR area (not sure if your Vermont location is serious), I would get it on order soon.

Has anyone bought any furniture from World Market?

Join Facebook yard sales. Be patient, just have the cash to immediately buy when you see something you like. Don't be afraid to paypal a deposit.
