The neighborhood behind the Beau Pre apartments is also called Beau Pre, but it's all houses. I lived there and it was nice. Nothing crazy going on at all and all the houses are pretty nice and kept up. It's on Arialo Dr.

I’m not sure why anyone in their late 20s would want to live out there

Get a place in the future St. George area. Property values expected to go up once it incorporates.

It was like that when I went to school from 2009-2013. Developer wanted to cram as many houses as possible and made the street 1.5 cars wide.

Living by campus essentially makes that impossible.

I haven’t been out there in years. I was thinking maybe they built something new or all the youngins moved to more trendy spots.
Also, wasn’t there another section that had people in there late 20s early 30? I’m not sure, I thought there was.
Edit: Honestly, I’m trying to get an idea of the housing. When I talk to my friends in LA, they moved to NOLA, one or two to Lafayette, and some that swear by Zachary. I’m single, I’d rather not live in a suburb-like area. The houses I’ve looked at in Zachary are great. I have no need for that kind of space though.

Mugged, shot and Aids. That pretty much sums it up

Debatable. Depends on where you are in TX. I grew up in Lafayette and then HS in Houston. I like it, I would rather be in Louisiana though.

I would want to live in the garden district/mid city/South Downs area. I remember lake beau pre being a party spot. If you want to party with college students then that would be a good option I guess

I’d probably consider some of those recently built subdivisions along Burbank.

I'd be nervous AF buying a house anywhere in BR except for maybe St George. Home values can go south quick.
I’m probably not going to buy.

Precisely why I’m asking. I’m out of the loop, I know a lot of y’all live in/around BR. Beau Pre is no longer on my list.

We lived in a townhouse for 2 years in Bocage area. We loved that part of town. I worked off Bluebonnet and wife worked off Corproate. We never left our “bubble” and never had issues.
Extra note; when we were finally smart enough to gtfo BR our townhouse had 3 offers in 2 days at asking so it was a very quick sell.

Different strokes. I moved out of there a month or two after finishing at LSU, but there were a few late 20s/early 30s people who I figured were grad students.

had to leave SDs this month... we needed a bigger house with a third on the way. I couldnt come to paying 450-500K for a 4 bedroom house with only 2200 sq ft that was built in the 60s.
that whole area needs to come back down to earth

There are a lot more "grown up" places to live, you just have to look. Plenty of places within 5 miles. I know a good number of people that lived at the Millenium, Gates at Citiplace, Enclave and The Reserve.

I don't know about the place as a whole, but I can tell you unit 159 got wrecked from 2008-2011

You don't have to be subtle. Just ask where the white people are living now.

I live in Lake Beau Pre and think it's a pretty nice place so far. It seems to be a mix of undergrads, graduate students, families and some older adults like myself. It's gated and I feel very safe.
