I’m moving back in the fall for job/grad school.

During undergrad I lived in Beau Pre, two different places. I loved it. I’ve been asking some of my friends how it’s changed and have gotten VERY mixed answers. One says you can’t get in or out on Thursday/Friday/Saturday because the traffic and parties are spilling all over the streets. One just left (we’re in our late 20’s) . I really liked the townhouse setup, and the “sort of” out of the way feeling, I am aware it is barely out of the way. The Garden District is probably #1 on my list at the moment, but a townhouse would be good too.

I do not want to be sandwiched between a couple dozen new pledges and freshman/sophomores that just found out alcohol was a thing.

Is Beau Pre still pretty nice? Can anyone tell me a few other places similar? Right now I’m looking at everything, but I haven’t been back for anything but campus/athletic events in a while.

As some one in your late 20s. Why the frick would you want to be around a bunch of 21/22 year olds in lake Beau Pre? Definitely worth moving into the garden district or South Downs.

There are townhouses behind Ivars/Merchant next to the overpass which are solid. Walking distance to just about everything you need.

Go ahead and get a place in North Baton Rouge. Once Gravy gets into the legislature, that section of the city will be booming.

I'd be nervous AF buying a house anywhere in BR except for maybe St George. Home values can go south quick.

What's your budget? There are a few nice places in downtown.
