I gave over a month notice (end of June) and I have multiple projects to wrap up...but damn IDGAF now. If I was an employer I'd be sceptical of employees that have 'moved on' so to speak. It's two beer lunches from here on out...and I work from home. Ugh, pile of shite to do and zero motivation.

Surely I'm thinking about this the wrong way, I should finish strong...right?

The last job that I left basically pushes you out within a week of giving notice, probably for the reasons you're stating.

previous jobs would be 0.0%. As it stand with my job now, I would try and help get someone up to speed so the transition is easy, but that is the difference between hating a job and liking one in my opinion.

Don't trust the data...

The second an employee told me I'd have them work on procedures or something of the sort.

They are and if they could replace you today they would.

I like my job, or I wouldn't have given such long notice, and the people I work with. I just have to move on. Two huge projects...and basically the proposal for one of them to continue awaits. I take vacation next week, then I'll finish strong. Right now though, Lagunitas.

I would work harder to get it done so you have little to nothing to do the last two weeks.

Same deal for me. Monday is my last day and I’m working this weekend. I’m slacking and listening to music the rest of the way.

Knock all of it out as quickly as you can and turn those two beer lunches into complete days off.

Honestly depends on your character.

Most people, regardless of the situation they faced at their soon to be former workplace, have too much pride to do shite half-assed.

If my names on something, and people are counting on me, then my performance doesn't drop. Your enthusiasm and your motivations may be different, but your character shouldn't waiver. If it was a less than desirable situation for you there, then the long notice would be unnecessary. Do the right thing and finish strong.

Just MHO...

They can't, but they won't pay me either.

You might be leaving this job, but you never know where you'll end up in the future. Half-arse on your way out now, might be the last thing someone remembers you by and you'll work with them again in the future.

That's better than having the boss walk in on Tues. morning and telling you today is your last day, be sure and clean out your desk. This happened to my brother at a company he had been at for almost five years. Downsizing was the reason.

Absolutely.

Formally accepted my next job today, so it's a bit of looking back / looking forward. Happy/sad...wish I could have made them value me more. I don't want to move on.
