I know I said I would leave it but another common cause for cold food is servers stacking tickets and overwhelming the window.

50 percent of restaurants close within 5 years. This trend of the owners blaming employees is pretty chickenshit.

Just once I'd like to see "We regrettably announce that we are closing. It turns out that the idea to open our restaurant wasn't as smart as we thought it was, and we're not as smart as we thought we were."

Drink water

Who wants to pay restaurant prices, then get cold , soggy, cold bc it’s been sitting in a styrofoam container for 20mins.

Unless your like 2 mins from the house, and you get there before it’s ready.

I like the way Chilis does it where you order on the tablet thing and pay with it.

Don’t have to wait on a waitress to take the order, less likely to get it incorrect, don’t have to wait on a check.

I do, at home, where I don't have to leave a bigger tip.

I prefer the unique QR code attached to a specific table.

Sit down, order & pay all in one motion. Food and beverages come out shortly after. Still hungry? Need another beer? Scan the code again.

Went to a high end steakhouse over the weekend and were there for damn near 2 hours it was so slow.

2 hours isn’t long for a high end restaurant. You go to a nice restaurant for a dining experience. Cocktails, appetizers, entree, desserts.

Full service dining was a pastime traditionally reserved for the upper class. I would embrace a return to that norm.
Personally I don’t go out to dinner to leave the table except to use the bathroom. As for the current standard of service, I rarely ever find it to be subpar. I would say that the dining public has lowered standards because of their lack of etiquette.
Not too long ago I was out to eat with some couples and this baw ate his food as if there was some sort of race taking place. Finished he pushes his plate off to the side to indicate he was done eating. Somewhat annoyed I asked if he wanted his plate cleared or did he prefer to be a gentleman and wait for everyone to finish. A conversation followed about proper dining etiquette, and I explained that I would never let staff clear my plate before everyone else was finished eating. His expectation of having his plate removed has lowered the standard of service in many places.
