such an original topic
I think this subject comes up and discussed 2-3 times a week here.
In all seriousness, how much of your budget is consumed by razors? I understand that one wants to save money where they can, but razors? Talk about minutiae.

It's a single thread on an entire forum and you clicked on it. Would you prefer more national anthem threads? Just skip over it, geez.

I was looking into that awhile back. Where can you find good handles?
eBay.
Vintage Gillette Techs can be had for ten bucks. It's a 3 piece handle like the Edwin jagger. That damned things are made like bullets. If minimally maintained it will outlive your grandkids.

shave every other day or so & my blades will last me about 3 months each before I change them
I'm about twice a week. Mach 3 blade easily last me three months. Last one was probably over 6 months.

Not to sound like a baller but I don't look at prices. I buy what works best. Gillette Mach 3 turbo.

I use one disposable razor a month. Blades don't go bad, even the toughest facial hair can't dull a steel blade. Blades go bad because they rust. I just simple wipe the blade with a towel when I am done or give it a quick shot from a can of compressed air.

This. I like my shave better too. I don't get nearly as much irritation or ingrown hairs.
ETA: And yes, merkur handle feather blades are the way to go.

I shave every night after showering and use the merkur handle and astra blades from Amazon. I bought a shave cup and brush from there also. $45 for everything including 100 blades 1.5 years ago. I'll use a safety razor as long as I have to shave.

I buy the cheap 3 blade 10 packs. They are good enough.

I use the Gillette Fusion, I shave daily and a blade will last a month maybe a bit more. I find if I skip a few days they don't last as long.

I shave my face and head daily. A razor lasts me two shaves no matter how expensive or cheap they were to buy.
