Most razor blades are a ripoff

Why are most razor blades so damn expensive?
I went to buy refill blades last weekend. They wanted $40 for 8 Gillette refill blades. That’s insane.
I ended up buying a Harry’s razor handle and 8 refill blades for $25. The blades were only $15. They work perfectly fine and aren’t a ripoff.

I did the dollar shave club but had to cancel after 3 months, the blades were horrible.

I did the same. I really wanted it to work too. But the blades are crap. Back to the Mach 3 for me.

I get about a 6 month supply from Costco of the old Mach 3's. I only shave about 3 days a week, and they work fine.

I bought the Harrys at Target one time. I wasn't a fan.
I can use the Gillette Mach 5's for 1 month per blade. Harrys only lasted a couple weeks.

Switch to safety razors. $10ish for a pack of 100 blades which will last you for years

I was looking into that awhile back. Where can you find good handles?

I have an Edwin Jagger DE89. It's probably $30ish. Merkur also makes good safety razors.

electric razor for the win men. Braun Series 7 is what I use.

I use a Murker heavy classic, and I bought 50 Murker Super double edge blades thinking they would not last very long. I'm 3 years into those blades. I think I have around 10 more left. I have had a beard for a year, but shave my neck and edge up my beard 3 times a week.

I've been using the Philips OneBlade for a couple of months now. I'm a big fan. Any one else use this?

1. Edwin Jagger or Merkur handle (I have the EJ DE89) - $28 lasts forever
2. Feather platinum blades, 50 count - $15 (lasts me 1-2 years, could be more if I didn't change them out so often)
3. Taylor of Old Bond Street shave cream - $15 (lasts me 6-8 months)
4. Badger Brush - $20-50 (lasted me over 3 years so far and going strong)
You're set. You might drop $ on the whole set up but giong foward you're looking at spending way less per year.
All bought on Amazon

I wouldn't start with Feather blades, they're the sharpest but that doesn't mean they're the best for you. I personally like Sharks and Astras.

Got these from Sam's for $27... Works just as good as the rest of the expensive stuff out there...

I use them and they are fine. It doesn't matter what blade I use I can't shave without taking a hot shower first. Once I take a shower I don't notice a difference between the most expensive blade and dollar shave club. Both work well. I guess it all depends on the person.
