Middendorf's ... I just don't see the attraction. Drive an hour or so from Baton Rouge and get food that doesn't taste as good as I could get 7 min from my house.
But everyone and their grandpa always talks about how good it is. To each his own, I guess.

Galatoires
I don't know why I'm getting down voted. There are so many places that have better food than Galatoires in New Orleans, and for the most part don't cost as much.
Every time I've been it's been a fun atmosphere and the oysters are very good but everything else I've felt was overrated.

Any mexican restaurant anywhere. shite all tastes the same and is all made up of the same thing: meat, tortilla, rice, beans in various ways can make every mexican dish.

I would agree with the comments about Cane’s, walk on’s, and sammy’s.
They are ok but not even close to the hype they get

In-N-Out/Whataburger. Both are mediocre.

The answer is The Lady & Sons (Paula Deen). It’s not even the best of its type in town. Mrs Wilkes’ is.

I'm not even saying it's bad, but Colin Cowherd said he eats there every time he goes to GA, I was thinking...maybe?...
It's just touted way more than it is good...
I think the Vortex is also overrated, but less people know about that

Friends in Madisonville before they closed.
This is a really good answer. The food and atmosphere was never at any time worth the wait times you typically had.
In NOLA it’s Mothers hands down. There is nothing special about it.
