The willow pole that my grandpa put for me to find my duck pond when I was nine.
The old Leeville bridge. When you saw that you knew you were almost to Grand Isle.
The Sea Bouy at Cat Island Pass.
The Sea Bouy at Belle Pass.
The Huey P Long Bridge.

You need to get out more. These might be the most iconic for you which I can respect, but the world is a lot bigger than you.

In terms of recognizability? In no particular order

Great Pyramid of Giza
Tower Bridge
Statue of Liberty
Great Wall of China
Eiffel Tower

I feel like everyone who isn't brain dead associates those with the correct city/country.

Personally, I'd sub out the Eiffel Tower for St Basil's or the Taj Mahal and Tower Bridge for Christ the Redeemer
