I don't know but Spinal Tap's Stonehenge would have to be among the top 5

The place is beautiful but most people have probably never heard of it

I agree. Which makes the place even more special.

Of the top of my head and after a lifetime of world travel, in no particular order .... combined with personal experience from other world travelers I have run into over the decades who have these things on their bucket list:
Mt Everest
The Eiffel Tower
Statue of Liberty (by ship, coming into the harbor)
The Grand Canyon
Leaning Tower of Piza
The Acropolis of Athens
The Matterhorn
Mt Vesuvius AND The Amalfi Coast and Blue Grotto
Great Pyramid of Giza AND The Valley of the Kings
The National Mall
The Roman Coliseum
Bran Castle
Alcatraz
Kilauea Volcano
Great Wall of China
The Forbidden City
Dealy Plaza
The Berlin Wall (at Checkpoint Charlie)
Cliffs of Dover
The Blarney Stone
Pearl Harbor
Red Square (Moscow)
Straights of Gibraltar (and The Rock of course)
The Temple Mount AND Whaling Wall
Masada
Buckingham Palace
Stonehenge
Hadrian's Wall
Vatican City
.... been to all of those.
Have met people from all over the world at those places.
Still have a few more things to see before I kick, hopefully. Going to start taking kids and grandkids with me on some trips beginning this coming summer.

Bella Noche.
Because if you can't go there, where the hell CAN you go?

What would you consider to be the top five most iconic landmarks in the world?
I’m just going to wait for TulaneLSU to tell us what the Top 10 are. I’m especially curious to see if he agrees that the St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux cracks the top 5.

I thought of the TAJ Mahal in the same way, but I think the Dome of Rock is a better choice. There really should be a religious symbol on this list.
The Taj Mahal is an active mosque. It's in my top 5 though I think Hagia Sophia is more interesting and is stunning as well.
Iconic (no order):
Taj Mahal
Pyramids
Eiffel Tower
Statue of Liberty
Great Wall
Very close:
Big Ben
Colosseum
Sydney Opera House
Stonehenge
Golden Gate Bridge
