Cash's in Fort Walton Beach was the only landmark that mattered in the early 80's.

You’re right, 1600 isn’t ancient

Unfortunately, much of what would be considered ancient in India was left in ruins by the sultanates.

Eiffel Tower: Europe/Modern landmark with 7 million visitors year
Statue Of Liberty: West/under-rated symbol of freedom sought by millions around the globe

I was torn between statue of liberty or The Dome on the Rock and I went with the Dome because of its religious and historical significance.

I think the Eiffel Tower, Great Pyramids, and Statue of Liberty are the three locks.

Spots 4 and 5 can be argued.

I thought of the TAJ Mahal in the same way, but I think the Dome of Rock is a better choice. There really should be a religious symbol on this list.

2 pages and no mention of Angkor Wat.

Possibly the most intriguing place I’ll ever visit in my life.

The place is magical. Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei... the entire complex.
