I run on my treadmill with wrist weights while watching ESPN on iPad. Just make sure you change the incline every few minutes. If you don't, it can cause a little pot belly. Read that in a Men's Health article.

See if you replace "wrist weights" with "two double cheeseburgers" your sentence would actually make more sense.

You don't get a potbelly from cardio you idiot

Get a Stairmaster. Great for lower body and core.

By stair master do you mean a stair mill? The big escalator type thing? Those are brutal.

Rowing machine!!

FYI, most of the info in Mens Health is garbage!!

What's the point of running with wrist weights?

I think, what is being implied, is that if you run and only run, you get very developed in your lower body (as expected).

After a long period (years) and as you age, even with running, you can still accumulate belly fat.

To combat this, you need to add other exercises, or increase distance.

But yes, you're right,-running does not cause a pot belly.

These are relentless. You have to keep up.

But I prefer:

You have to push yourself on this though

Running only is not going to develop significant muscle mass in your legs unless you are genetically disposed to having muscular legs. You arent going to build up your abdominals from running.

Either take the belt off the self-propelled mower and push it around for 30-45 minutes a day or a stairmaster.

We're noodling between a Bowflex Max trainer and a Concept 2 rower. They have Concept 2s at my local Anytime Fitness, so that may put off the decision for a while.

The concept c2 rower is a good one, but a good airdyne bike is a pretty damn good cardio workout. Don't get a cheap one, but a good quality airdyne is by far one of the hardest cardio machines to beat.
