Newsflash: Americans are fat and snore more than they should.

I’m not far from it in my house. There’s only so much room with 2 adults, a kid, and 1-2 dogs all in bed together. My wife could sleep through a nuclear attack, so it doesn’t bother her.

This. When I was growing up, I wanted my own room. I still do.
After 40 years, two kids, three moves, different careers and sleep schedules, mywife wants to fall asleep to the TV. I like it dark cold and quiet. Two rooms make sense. .
If you’re so insecure you can’t let her out of your sight? That’s on you.

Real story is most people are obese and have horrible sleep hygiene habits (caffeine, phone 4+ hours a day, no exercise, regular alcohol use, anxiety, depression, etc). Probably not the the worst thing to remove another potential sleep disruptor (snoring spouse, tossing turning, etc).

Yep. My wife and I don't sleep in the same bed unless on vacation or visiting a friend's house for an extended visit and sleeping over.
Believe it or not, she's the one who snores, kicks during the night and loves her half of the bed right down the middle.
When she and I did sleep in the same bed, I never got good rest with being wakened several times a night from the above activity.
That and the fact she goes to bed no later than 9:30 most nights and I usually don't get to sleep before midnight, so it makes sense for us to sleep separately.

My wife is a very light sleeper and I sleep like a noisy log.

More than a third of Americans say they occasionally or consistently sleep in another room from their partner, according to a survey from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

disruptions such as snoring, stolen covers or early alarms.
My wife has restless leg syndrome and one her legs twitches in her sleep. No one can sleep with that going on.
Clonazepam/Klonopin has been a lifesaver.

Married over 20 yrs. Always sleep together. She lays on her stomach and I lay on my back and she cant fall asleep unless my hand is on her bare arse. Still having sex at least 4 times per week. Some of the shite I read in this thread is sad and unimaginable
It’s not unimaginable. These people won’t be together in ten years. If they exist, their life is unimaginable and sad.

Hell yeah. The only good sleep we get is in separate bedrooms.

I can somewhat see two separate beds in the same room, but I feel for anyone that wants to be in another room with their spouse when they are home together.

Husband and I shared a double bed for 32 years. Finally got a king sized bed when we moved to my current home. After he died, I felt like the bed was about an acre in size. I still sleep on "my side."

If one of us is sick or the hubs has gassed up the room so thick you can taste the farts, I grab my Kindle and head to my college son’s now empty room. I actually love it, sleep like a baby, and only reluctantly move back to the grab-arse fart factory

Please br, there are solutions besides sleeping in different beds/bedrooms. You gonna fight me on this?

Respectfully disagree. Being married is way easier when you are well rested. My husband has sleep apnea and is a shitty sleeper. I’ve wanted to murder him after a few weeks of him waking me up every 30 mins
Been together 32 years

This wasn’t aimed at your situation. If you love each other, you work it out. I’m responding to bh.

Why are you responding with WhiteRussianDude’s account if you’re a woman?
