Is it true if you don’t use it, you lose it?

That’s what my Spanish teacher used to say.

COVID es no bueno. COVID es muy mal.

Supposedly there will be enough doses for everyone by the end of May, and considering a lot of idiots down here will refuse it, get it when you can.

I think there is a lot wrong with young, healthy, low risk people signing up for the covid gene therapy, but a lot of young, healthy, low risk dick bags on here don't want to hear it.

Or just making sure a dose doesn't go to waste due to bureaucratic rules?

this. it's not difficult

and herd immunity benefits everyone so it's still moral objectively. wasting vaccines is immoral

It's only immoral if you don't tell or help the older/more at risk members of your family try the same thing. If you're on 6 wait lists and your dad is on 0 because he didn't know about the wait list, then you're a prick.

I'm tired of the moralizing. I don't owe it to all of humanity everywhere to wait until last. It's either a social good to get the shot or a social nothing. I say social nothing and don't intend to get one, but some people see it as duty.

I'm way below any age group nor involved with medical care nor any kind of first responder, made a phone call to a doc I know and got the Pfizer shots probably months ahead of when I would be otherwise eligible. No fricks given, nobody missed out on a dose because of me.

What do y'all think about signing up for the waitlist if you aren't in a high risk group?

Sign up. Someone’s getting that shot. Don’t worry a second about it. People who are higher risk than you can also sign up.

I'd rather the people that want to get it, go get it now instead of wasting it. In MS, all you have to do is mark a box and no questions asked to get an appt. Several people my age went and got theirs after their parents got theirs first. Some marked the smoker box and some marked care takers I think?

I’m not getting the vaccine and it has nothing to do with morality.

Not wrong at all in my opinion. It’s wrong for someone to make the appointment but not show up.

I'm high risk and would rather not get the vaccine right now. But yea a lot of people see it as a duty and to set a good example and that I should do the same since I am high risk. The more I'm pressured to get the vaccine, the less I want to get it. I would rather sit back and let those who really want it, go for it.

I got a surplus shot yesterday. I give zero fricks. Otherwise, it was probably going in the trash.

I have not gotten the vaccine yet, but I know several people in NOLA who have gotten it before their category was called. They were assured that the appointment spot was vacant, it would not otherwise be used and that they were not taking anyone's place in line. Therefore they got the shot with a clear conscience.
