It’s been on a slow long downhill slide since probably sometime in the mid 80s. I moved away in the mid 90s.

I don't live there, but have known him since high school. Grew up in the same town in NELA. He's a great guy. Hopefully, enough folks there vote for him.

Nor do I but I was enthused to see the announcement. Unfortunately demographics are not in his favor.

The only brewery in downtown just happens to be one of the best in the state!

Y'all should check out the Flying Tiger

Your insight is unparalleled. While I have never been to Monroe, your post has inspired me to visit one day.

You can only get close to a decent town in horseshoes and hand grenades

You would love it. Our Wal Mart is world renowned, referred to as the ‘crown jewel of the brand’ by the corporate office.

Which Walmart do you recommend? Is it a Neighborhood Walmart, Super Walmart, or Walmart Discount Store?

I like their Jucee. Not sure how they haven’t been sued by Icee.

Well, of course we have all three, and which you elect to patronize will depend on your needs, as well as your mood. The store of which I speak is a Super Wal Mart, an establishment deserving of its name. I think you would much enjoy a trip to our little hamlet, just make sure you stay on the east side of the Ouachita, lest you wander to the pretender village to our west.

White people frick everything up when when they all leave. One black family moves in and they bail and they can't sell their house for market value because other white people don't want to live by a black family so the prices go down making it affordable for lower class blacks.

Do these white people think that all black people are gang banger and that they have to move or else they will be victimized by a drive by or something?

It is a bit funny how white folks get bashed for leaving a place when culcha moves in, and then they also get criticized for helping revitalize a place causing values and rents to go up (and business to move in, jobs to be created, tax revenue to be generated, etc).
