I don't get gator hunting. It seems like it would be kinda boring, and the meat is not that great.

Most of those guys come from families that have done it for generations. It's Like the family business. Like deer hunting, you have to dispatch a certain amount per year or they'll get exponentially over-populated.

They need to issue more tags. Gators are everywhere.

Louisiana state record for Alligators is over 19 feet. We laugh at the Mississippi state record.

According to Jim, the state of Louisiana does not record weight in their record books, only length. The longest alligator ever caught in Louisiana history was 19'2".

Now that's a HUGE gator. Bigger than anything I've seen Troy "The King of the Swamp" Landry put in any of his boats over the years of watching "Swamp People".

Used to be good money in it. Nowadays people just do it for the novelty of it. It's stupid.

Gator hunting outside of using bait is a blast.

It’s amazing there are still 12+ footers around. Years of trophy hunting and a 12+ is 25+ years old. You gotta wonder where they hide

Makes me think the countless 12 footers they caught on Swamp People maybe were 8. Maybe.
