Are you fricking kidding me? All of those police officers should be fricking fired. That is sheer incompetence and they should not be able to be placed in that level of authority position being that damn dumb

I know. I can't even wrap my head around it.

Jeanerette Police, Iberia Sheriff's deputies and volunteers have been searching for Poche since he was reported missing, including in wooded areas in Iberia and St. Mary Parishes.
Sheriff Ackal says they located Poche's body Wednesday at his home, inside a trash can in his backyard.

Yet another prime example of why small towns shouldn't have a police department period. Policing should be handled by Sheriff departments and state police.

Understatement of the year. It's like they've never watched a single episode of Forensic Files...

Ever hear of the Boulder police department? Let me refresh your memory--Jon Benet Ramsey.

If it was missing, how did they find him in it in his back yard?
Another poster also said the mayor disbanded the local police. How did the police miss this if they don't exist?

None of that is true

The Jeanerette PD did the initial search of the house. Didn't find anything. Searched the city for 4 days. After the arrest of the guy, the Iberia parish sheriff wanted to do another sweep of the house. That's when they found him in the trash can on his porch. Unbelievable.
This would be funny if it didn't involve a murder.

New iberia doesn't have a police department and now we are being held hostage by our corrupt sherif.
There ALWAYS needs to be different sources of law enforcement for the locals or they will be taken advantage of.

Read again. New iberia city police was disbanded not the Jeanette police department. That's one town over. Same parish though so same sherif.

Wow just listened to the Iberia sheriff's press conference. The Jeanerette PD did the initial search of the house. Didn't find anything. Searched the city for 4 days. After the arrest of the guy, the Iberia parish sheriff wanted to do another sweep of the house. That's when they found him in the trash can on his porch. Unbelievable. JPD at its finest
According to the JPD they immediately turned over the investigation to the IPSO, once the crime scene was secured. They claim the Sheriff's Office has been "calling the shots" the whole way.
This is the Sheriff of Iberia Parish. Prisoners there have a way of shooting themselves while they are handcuffed, and when not doing that are being beaten.

Got it. I had originally thought it was Jeanerette because this is a Jeanerette thread about things in Jeanerette.
The woman that was cleaning up the blood has been arrested for criminal trespass and drugs. She knows the killer but is not involved in the murder.
The killer did not know Mr. Poche. How did he choose him? Why did he feel the need to kill him? Is the killer talking?
Why in the blue hell did he remove the basket from the bicycle?
Also, they say they expect more arrests. Any info on that?
