Sounds like the defense has a case for a mistrial or possibly reasonable doubt that the suspect was framed.
Not if he told them where to find Mr. Poche. I am just guessing, but they never searched the house and yard until after the arrest.
Then, after the arrest, they hotfooted it back to the house and found him.

I'm guessing that if the dude walks, he comes up missing. Or is found stuffed in a garbage can somewhere.
At least that's what should happen.

Obviously an upstanding citizen.
Jeffery Marks, Jr., 23, 2011 Frisco Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on November 9, 2016 at 11:40 pm for the following offenses:
Resisting an officer with force
Maximum speed limit violation
No driver’s license
Simple escape
Possession of Schedule II (cocaine) with intent to distribute
Possession of Schedule IV(Xanax)
Possession of Schedule V (promethazine)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone)
Transactions involving proceeds drug offenses
A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a vehicle traveling 65 miles per hour in a posted 55 miles per hour zone on LA Highway 182. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Marks, and 3 other occupants in the vehicle. The deputy found that Marks was operating the vehicle without a driver’s license. While speaking with deputies, Marks repeatedly attempted to walk past them towards the vehicle. As deputies worked to detain him, Marks pulled away and then pushed a deputy. Marks was placed in handcuffs. Deputies located a digital scale, over $1,400 in cash, and a Xanax pill on his person. During his arrest Marks pulled away from a deputy and fled on foot. Deputies apprehended him after a brief foot pursuit. As another deputy spoke with the three occupants in the vehicle, one of the passengers got into the driver’s seat and fled the area with the other two passengers inside. Deputies followed the vehicle to School House Lane in Charenton where the three subjects fled on foot. The K-9 Unit was contacted to assist. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a bag of cocaine, a pill bottle containing 21 pieces (commonly referred to as rocks) of crack cocaine, and a bottle of promethazine. Marks was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set. The investigation in ongoing.
Jeffery Marks, Jr., 23, 2011 Frisco Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on April 14, 2016 at 1:27 pm on a warrant for domestic abuse battery (child endangerment) and simple assault. A deputy investigating a report of a battery collected evidence that Marks struck a female victim and made threats that he would kill her during an argument at a residence in the Jeanerette area. The victim was holding a small child at the time. The deputy obtained a warrant for Marks’ arrest. A correctional officer transported Marks from the Iberia Parish jail to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. No bail is set.

Hopefully Ackal puts some of his most hard hitting Baws on this piece of shite

Wow just listened to the Iberia sheriff's press conference. The Jeanerette PD did the initial search of the house. Didn't find anything. Searched the city for 4 days. After the arrest of the guy, the Iberia parish sheriff wanted to do another sweep of the house. That's when they found him in the trash can on his porch. Unbelievable. JPD at its finest
From the KATC article:
Sheriff Ackal says they located Poche's body Wednesday at his home, inside a trash can in his backyard. When asked why it was missed the first time, Ackal said their agency didn't do the initial search of the crime scene, but a team was called out today to search the area again."
KATC reached out to Jeanerette Police Chief Jeremy Matthews who said they called in the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office on Christmas Day to help them when they realized they could be investigating a homicide. He said he knew they did not have the resources that IPSO had. Matthews said the sheriff's office sent in the crime scene unit and a detective immediately to investigate and they have been calling the shots since.
----------------------------------------------
So after reading that article it seems like there is blame to go around with all depts here. JPD calls in IPSD the day he is missing and IPSD starts calling the shots right away but yet now all of a sudden they didnt search anything until four days later???

Yeah, I've come to that conclusion. If you see racism everywhere, it's probably because you're racist and think everyone is like you.

Oh frick off, if the roles were reversed youd be seeing more pointless riots in the streets and politicians kissing their asses.
It would be all over yahoo and cnn with hashtags about how metaphorical everything was. Al Sharpton would be firing people up on how they aren't just garbage etc.
That's the reality of 2016. But no one is going to talk about this case. Where is the respect for Mr. Poche? I'm fricking tired of seeing stories like this and people ultimately saying, "oh if they would have just had a little hope & access to education"..there is a common denominator, and they want you to believe it's you and yours.
A elderly man is killed in such a way by a fricking crackhead, with a culture that promotes and rewards media about selling crack and killing people..and people get upset if you call the perpetrator exactly what he is?
You know, we joke about it here. With the "culcha & dindu" talk..because if you can't have a sense of humor in the face of atrocity..then you have to be sad. But it's really not that funny anymore, and it is just sad and pathetic that it's so common, that this is what our home has become.

It seems you're conflating a whole bunch of things to a point where you're arguing about some alternate reality.

Wow..a thread. It would be headline news if roles reversed.

And so those stories relate to an innocent man being ruthlessly murdered?
All the time. Its the go to excuse to not only excuse, but promote and project guilt to the "privileged". No responsibility, it's someone else's fault. If they kill a person, family etc. They think they don't deserve life in prison.

A reality in which if any arresting officers have ever used the n word, he could get a mistrial.
