I was using a retirement calculator the other day and it actually had an option to select "I'm assuming I won't get Social Security".

I laughed. Then I cried.

why do you keep saying this when it's absurd and completely untrue?

just because you keep repeating it. doesnt mean it's suddenly going to become accurate

You should take your own advice.

Who's the one that doesn't want to have a discussion? Again, you don't know me. I know you have no trust, so there's nothing I can say that you'd think otherwise (very Boomer of you, by the way). I've paid my debt ( no one born after 1979 could probably avoid some form of College Debt like Boomers), and I'm more successful than 99.99% of my generation. I made the best out of all my decisions, good and bad, which is what most people want.

Again, my interest in this is because I've worked in and around Education my whole life. I've seen this game played, and lived it.

But, unlike Boomers, I recognize that there are different types of people, different levels of desire/intellect/drive/etc., and I watched plenty of people growing up make crappy decisions. Many times those decisions are their own fault, sometimes those decisions and those situations are the result of awful ideas that someone traps them in. These things do happen. College Debt is a real problem. No, we shouldn't do any sort of debt forgiveness, but Yes we should look to fix how the market treats college so we don't exacerbate the problem.

And yes, Boomers created the problem. That's not debatable.

College Debt wasn't a thing. Now it is. Things change.

I know. But, obviously, this is an important discussion for me.

Not even in the blame game idea, just in the "why the heck can't we fix this." Education should be like the one thing people work together on. I get everything else, but Next to family, understanding and giving people the opportunity to be successful in WHATEVER they want to do, as long it's necessary/viable, is the critical thing for making society right.

As a good Gen Xer should. I've always said Jack Dorsey was the pinnacle of Gen-X-dom. The Dude created something that basically allowed anything and everything to be a dust up/war/debate/etc. and just watched it all explode and cash come in. The ultimate Gen-X maneuver.

You ( meaning people involved in administration in education) are very likely part of the problem.

I've met very few people in Education who had any clue as to how business or the real world actually functioned.

The extraordinary lack of cost control and integrity that I have run across at bastions of higher learning is incredible.

I am not at all surprised at the ridiculous price of tuition.

He’s actually involved in the software industry, so I’m pretty sure he understands the concept of business process with software integration.
