Well thats just patently full of shite. Engineers, chemists, lawyers, dentists, do I need to keep going?

The meme about all millenials being snowflakes and having gender studies degrees is tired and played out.
The data does not support your narrative about it being so much harder back in the day.
There is nothing wrong with admitting that you had some lucky breaks go your way coming up and that the world has changed.
ETA: Hell I am self aware and humble enough to realize that the success I have had in life is larger a result of some lucky breaks along the way. The narrative that you just need to work had and "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" is bullshite. There are plenty of people who work harder than me but have not had the same breaks.
TL:DR: Be grateful for what you do have and realize that luck plays a part.

Who created and taught Feminist Theory? Boomers. College was never meant for job training. Boomers changed the game, took advantage of pensions, then stopped them, then tried to turn college into job training, while at the same time requiring your administrative assistant to spend 4 years in college for a degree she didn't really need. So what would she do? Go take Organic chemistry? No, Feminist theory made at least a little sense.
It was Boomers that reduced investment in the workforce, bastardized college, created all of the worthless degrees just and made it "the gateway" for the American Dream, thereby reducing its value overall, and created the environment for Debt.
Millenials had very little choice because Boomers created the environment to exploit college and sack them with years of debt. To line their own pockets, and delay their ascension into the workforce to protect their own jobs.

That isn’t the way to look at it.
The economy is actually great.
Products just cost significantly more now, relative to wages.
Purchasing a home or car is harder now compared to then.
There are also significantly more “required purchases” now compared to then.
And that compounds with the problem that wages are stagnant and lower than what boomers made at the same age.

Reread the thread boomer. The millenials have already posted plenty of data.

If they show up with a degree, at least I know they can learn.
I do agree that wages have not kept up with inflation, primarily due to the downturn from 2006-2011,but I see that changing rapidly in the next few years. It has already started, and anyone in business will tell you the same thing.

Another thing:
College tuition is OOC.
College administrators piss money away on the reg and they do this b/c all they have to do is raise tuition. They fight distance learning, they let textbook companies screw the students, they overpay ancient professors until they die; they are a bigger ripoff than the televangelist.
I feel sorry for you kids leaving school with $50,60-100K in student debt at 9%.

Let's continue....
Boomers are either collectively stupid or completely illogical? They also ACTIVELY demeaned manual and blue collar labor throughout their lives. So much so, that their entire policy and psychology was built around the idea that welders were worthless and that no one should be one. So people should go to college to avoid welding..... Who is going to weld??
Think about Administrative Assistants, logically, they thought some combination fo the following:
A) Administrative Assistants needed college degrees for some unknown reason, despite years of evidence that AA's being perfectly fine without college degrees and a history of, honestly, being demeaning toward those types of positions - see welders.
B) That Administrative Assistants didn't want to be AA's, therefore, they could "elevate" every AA out of an AA job....So who would be AA's? See the blue collar problem. Which is wrong, there are lots of people who just want that job.
C) That there was enough content to fill 4 years, because it's the standard, with Administrative Assistant training.....where do we think worthless comes from?
All the while, that having more degrees meant the value of a degree stayed....the same? Going against literally every argument of supply vs. demand. Pride killed the Boomer generation. They didn't want "their kids" being welders. That is the entire problem. Instead of recognizing that there are lots of different interests, lots of levels of intellect and drive, and lots of jobs to do, Boomers were too prideful and didn't want their kids to just be "insert low level job here" which is why it's absolutely hysterical that "work ethic" is what drives Boomers insane......
They didn't care about work ethic, they cared about position and title.

Now this is one thing I can agree with millenials on. You royally fricked the country with this one boomers.
"If you don't go to college, you're worthless and have no value."
Ya, great job with that one guys.

4th wave feminism wasn't a byproduct of the boomers.
The Boomers worst legacy though is infiltrating universities with radical social ideals and using government to enforce them.

feminist theory didn't start in the 4th wave, obviously, since you know, there were 3 prior waves

We are talking about movements, we are talking about worthless degrees. Boomers created literally ALL of the worthless degrees in the late 1970s-1990s. It was Boomers coming out of graduate school from the 1960s who did that.

4th wave is the most vile form of feminism by far. In 60 years, feminism has gone from an independent to a collective movement
That was my point.

That's b/c they all saw men and women with degrees getting ahead of them, despite their real world knowledge.
It wasn't too long ago that places like McDonalds were demanding a degree just be a hired as a restaurant manager.
