Nope, not at all. Born in 57, wife in 60. World of a difference. A lot was due to me growing up in thje city were as the wife was/is a country girl.

When you start a job with a new company, there's a good chance you'll be in this situation. More than one-third (41.6 percent) of employers surveyed required workers to wait six months or more before they could participate in the 401k plan. Just over one-quarter (27.2 percent) had a one-year waiting period, the longest permitted by law, according to a study by the Plan Sponsor Council of America (PSCA).

It happens a good bit

I personally see it a good bit while setting up plans for companies.

Then last thing. Job hopping. Many aren't content with their job or pay so are quick to start over elsewhere which lags them behind also.

I can't speak for other industries, but mine almost encourages job hopping.

I own my home. Cheaper to mortgage then rent after the down payment.

Pointing out statistical facts and discussing their underlying causes =/= crying.

It's already that time of the month for our "Boomers are at fault for everything" monthly thread?

Wow time flies baws.

It’s not a scam but it is a capital heavy, non liquid investment. For someone who wants flexibility that may not be the best option

Cause we worked for it and didn't need a set of truck nuts. My kids, one a xer and the other a millennial both own there houses. Yes, they worked for it. Oh, both didn't go out for coffee or craft beers.

Right, but you’re still missing the point. Both your children, who I’m sure did work hard, would be better off than they currently are if they had done all their hard work (and avoiding beer and coffee) as a member of a previous generation. This isn’t rocket science man

Relatively speaking? Good. In my own personal opinion? Shitty.

32 years old, never had student loans, never had credit card debt, paid my brand new 2013 Honda Civic in 5 years per my Honda Finance Loan, have ~$7K in savings (took a bit of a hit with a DUI arrest - didn't end up with a DUI), $6K in checking that I float between $3.5K to $6K in my account month to month, no kids, no pets, no significant other, make enough money to live in a fairly decent/expensive apartment (cost of living is definitely cheap in Columbia).

But I hate my job, hate what I got a degree in and probably won't ever go back to school. I definitely don't see myself ever being married, not that I want it. But I don't necessarily not want it either... if that makes any sense. Basically nothing will probably ever happen for me. Surprisingly not a virgin.

If I was in your shoes I'd be living in The Hub. The amount of hot arse I see coming in and out of that place on a daily basis is ridiculous.

Not to mention the pool, of which I have a nice view of from my office.

That information paired with your birthday in your username should make it fairly easy to track down exactly who you are.

I couldn't date a college chick man. I'm all for the rule of halving your age and adding 7. So for me that's 23. And IMO still too young. I probably need an emotionally developed woman.
