This is absolutely ridiculous. In 8th grade I remember we used to send around nude photos of girls all the time. All of the guys caught were suspended for 4 days, as long as the girls who sent the photos out. I wasn't caught fortunately. But as an adult who obviously knows better, it is crazy to think that we basically could have been charged for kiddie porn, when we honestly didnt know any better. We were stupid teenage boys.

I do remember later in high school when I was about 17, we were given an extremely scary presentation. That basically said if we were caught sexting with anyone else in high school, then we could possibly be charged with kiddie porn and forced to register as a sex offender for life. I never requested nudes from a girl from that day forward. I was so scared, I personally approached every female at school whom I ever sent a dickpic to and formally apologized and asked them to not press charges on me. That presentation had me shook.

In 2015, a 17-year-old boy in North Carolina was prosecuted for having nude pictures of himself on his own mobile phone. The images were taken when he was 16.

They probably plead down to something lesser.


New Mexico has actually passed a Sexting law that allows children between the ages of 14-18 to engage in consensual sexting.

The police have much bigger fish to fry than school-age kids to partner with schools to hunt for criminals. The ones I know don't even want to have to arrest kids who fight on school campuses- and many schools do press charges for that, these days.

Reading comprehension: It's not for everyone.

Here's the 2 part story from my 14 year old son that has been around it every day since it started. The kid in question has been to my home numerous times and I'm friends with his Dad and older brother. He's fairly quiet and has never been any problem with us.

This happened 2 weeks ago. The reason that it's getting attention now is another boys mom is making a big deal by pressing charges and turning it into bullying crusade because her son took his first arse whipping. He likes one of the naked girls on the phone and talked shite to the other kid for over a week. He pushed / threw a weak punch and then paid for it. Should have been the end of the story with both kids getting suspended for fighting.

After the fight, the phone was taken where they found the pictures of different girls. The boy turned 15 years old yesterday. He will still graduate at 18 and turn 19 shortly after. I'm not sure why people are making his age into a big deal.
The girls in question are all about the same age - I was told there were 2-3 different girls that SENT HIM THEIR PIX. I asked my 14 and 16 year old sons and both said this happens often through text or snapchat. GIRLS - stop sending teenage boys nude pictures, they will share them with other teenage boys. I'm not saying that he shared them, but I can only imagine. This is not in any way a child porn case where sketchy guys are downloading things off of the web.

According to new laws, he could be in a bit of trouble and basically nothing would happen to the girls that sent the pictures.
