Or you should just teach your son not to click the links? Always looking to someone to solve your problems...

We say "do you know do wae" with him all the time. it's cute. And a 7 year old has not intent behind something like that. This shite is so annoying. I told him he was banned b/c the devs at Roblox are basically morons. And it didn't matter what we say or do, that those morons own the software he enjoys. So he follows their dumbass rules, or they ban him.

But I wasn't explaining hate speech over something like this. So damn stupid.

Just saw this. Holy frick what a bad idea and intrusion into privacy. Talk about fascism and thought police.

This will hurt Microsoft in a big way financially

But whats the difference between the motives of the conservatives and the motives of the liberals? Religion. Conservatives at least have a spiritual/religious backing to their ideas. Why do liberals want to curtail and censor speech?

Who really cares about motive when the end result is the same? If a conservative is attempting to curtail my free speech it doesn't make it ok because he blames it on a book.

Who the hell are these people deciding what is offensive?

The government. See last weeks FOSTA vote in the Senate. Platforms are scared shitless because of vague language in the bill. Craigslist, and others, removed their personals last week. It is censorship by proxy.

what's wrong with that?
One of my roomates in college was the only one with a computer of the 4 of us. He thought it would be funny to password lock his computer so none of us could use it, which made us have to go to the library to do the stupid homeworks that needed to be submitted online. I figured out his password, downloaded some horse porn from limewire, replaced the horse porn with his "hidden" file of pornos and renamed them to the same names he had for his hidden pronos. Also changed his password so it took him quite some time to get back into his own computer, and then about a week later he discovered his pornos were all horse pornos. It was fun.

When you have an adult send your 14yo son "horseporn" you will have the same thoughts that I do today.

I'm not saying MS should limit communication but they must protect children from this sort of thing.

Well I better stay off FIFA. I’ve been known to weave a tapestry of expletives that would make Bob Knight blush

My kid got banned several times for telling other players "You play like a queer". Last week he called MS or Xbox and told them the constant banning for saying queer was "horse shite." I'm not sure if I have failed him as a parent or not.

Seems draconian but it'll be nice to play XBox live w/fewer 12 year olds screaming out every single curse word and slur possible for a change.

When these companies get so large and have so much power, when they make these ridiculous rules it really does feel similar to living in a not-so-free country anymore.

Obviously it’s not the government making these rules, but when people have become so dependent on large corporations, it seems like “big brother” rules over us.

Will they be able to write an algorithm that will allow black people to call one another the N word while banning white people that use it?

The next five years or so of the internet is going to be very interesting.

These private entities have the power to do basically anything they want which creates a conundrum for someone that wants them to maintain an even playing field for political expression but doesn’t want them to be forced to do so.

The big players don’t seem particularly interested in the even playing field. They are lurching more and more to the left every day.

They have unlimited power because they can put ambiguous language into a EULA or ToU agreement and they have carte blanche to suppress expression however they see fit.

No bestiality, huh?

I guess Oscar winner The Shape of Water is banned from Microsoft.

I’m not 10 and don’t play games on Xbox, but I am fricking your mom.
