And really? There are games full of cursing,
Violence, sex and drugs, but saying something “offensive” is what’s wrong?

Yea I'm really trying to understand this.

GTA San Andreas was the first game I recall playing when some dude in the "south central" part of town called me a "motherfricker" for running over some of his buddies.

But now my son can't say that across the headset in online games?

It's not just about the OS, it's cloud services too. I saw an article yesterday about a cam girl that had been using Google Drive for years to share videos with paying customers and all of a sudden it stopped working. If this is all because of the new law I assume Dropbox would be a no go too.

Funny we're about to go back to the days of FreeNAS

Does Microsoft actually want to police user content or is this because of the new laws that were passed that made sites responsible for user posted content which is why Craigslist shut down the personals section where prostitutes found desperate men to steal organs from?

Ahhh. Now it makes sense. Not so freaked out now.

Am I out of the know here, Carson? Does that meme have some insidious racist undertones that I was unable to discover?

I go back and forth between "I'm too old to catch their meaning" and "These people are complete idiots". Leaning way more towards the latter.

As much as I love that idea to prevent domestic homicides and other planned crimes, this would really suck.

But Love the reference.

Here's the weird thing.

It used to be that the liberals were all about free speech and free expression, whether in literature or art or whatever.

But it is largely liberals that are freaking out about offending gays, fatties, women, short people, tall people, etc. etc. that they have now brought this sort of censuring/censoring on us all.

It’s a double reference, to both Minority Report and specifically a Penny Arcade cartoon lampooning MS as doing just that, using “pre-crime” to determine future slurs and insults.

Pre-fanity

He showed me how people will rename links "Game highlights" or "check out this kill"...when clicked it is a video of nastiness no young kid should see

These things are normally listed in order of priority. Why is beastiality second? Is there some issue that we don't know about? Auburn fans out of control? What is going on?

Microsoft is only usable if you are on a network anyway (at work),

So like are they really gonna render their products and services useless to, oh, say, GE Corporation, all because one of the GE managers, at one of the many levels, wrote a terribly negative personnel review that offended the employee being reviewed?

Are they going to self ban their MS Corp. usage for saying inappropriate and thus offensive intra office memo's/emails when some thin skinned employee in the mail room complains?

Of course not. Selective enforcement, of course.

Every time I heard about stuff like this. And also when people talk about eradicating guns. I think about the movie Demolition Man. The society they lived in was about as metrosexual as it gets. Free of crime, guns etc. Get tickets from computer terminals for saying curse words. This is probably the Left's blueprint for how they want society to become.

Now the question is, who is going to be the Simon Phoenix. And who is going to be the John Spartan.

what's wrong with that?
One of my roomates in college was the only one with a computer of the 4 of us. He thought it would be funny to password lock his computer so none of us could use it, which made us have to go to the library to do the stupid homeworks that needed to be submitted online. I figured out his password, downloaded some horse porn from limewire, replaced the horse porn with his "hidden" file of pornos and renamed them to the same names he had for his hidden pronos. Also changed his password so it took him quite some time to get back into his own computer, and then about a week later he discovered his pornos were all horse pornos. It was fun.

if you're old, you probably wont think it's funny. its my favorite meme of 2018 tho

quote:

Ugandan Knuckles is the nickname given to a depiction of the character Knuckles from the Sonic franchise created by YouTuber Gregzilla, which is often used as an avatar by players in the multiplayer game VRChat who repeat phrases like “do you know the way” and memes associated with the country Uganda, most notably the film Who Killed Captain Alex? and Zulul. The character is associated with the expression “do you know the way”, which is typically spoken in a mock African accent and phonetically spelled as “do you know de wey.” Along with the question in hand a VR user will start making “spitting” sounds, followed by a “mob like” mentality. Unsuspecting VRchat users fall victim to Ugandan Knuckles “promise” of showing “de wey”. Only followed by a mass trolling.

quote:

The Ugandan Knuckles character has been accused of promoting ethnic and racial stereotypes against Africans, though defenders of the meme have claimed the character is merely based on an appreciation for Who Killed Captain Alex? and Wakaliwood cinema. On January 20th, 2018, YouTuber Drift0r published a video titled “Is Ugandan Knuckles Racist?” (shown below).

LINK

there's a game called VR chat where you can upload 3d models into a VR chat room. people took this awful knuckles/sonic illustration and just swarmed people saying "do u know da wae?" and it became a huge thing. check the link

lots of adaptations too. love this one. LINK
