I suppose it would be a good thing for the parish however.

School system finna get rich on property and sales tax revenue. It's a perfect storm, really. A lot of extra money without a lot more kids coming in to strain the school infrastructure.

It's 6,500 jobs for the next 6-7 years. Once it's all said and done, between the data center and supporting elements it's 500+ permanent jobs. So yea, you're right. No big deal.

It’s a big deal for the poorest area of Louisiana.

Good news for the region/state. Here's some renderings you can add to the OP

I may be wrong but how does this help other than Anne a boost to supporting industries? Data centers aren’t labor intensive.

Billions of dollars of equipment that is likely subject to sales and business personal property taxes. And while there won’t be a ton of permanent job creation, there will be hundreds of construction jobs to build the facility and the permanent jobs that are created will probably all be $100k+

Baws, I don't like this one bit.

How much will the service fee be on this one?

Politicians will proclaim $ 10 b expenditure, but a fraction of that goes to La. Vendors and service providers.
Most taxes will be abated.
There are 500 permanent jobs.and the construction jobs, if local, are very nice, tho temporary.
This is a good thing for the State, but Jeff Landry will overhype it.

My family land is 4 miles north of the site at the parish line. I passed by the site several times last week when I was up hunting. I’d love to know who’s doing the frickton of dirt work.

Per the email from LED

Project is expected to result in 500 or more direct new jobs, more than 1,000 indirect jobs and 5,000 construction workers at peak.

There’s a Turner construction company, not Turner industries listed as the builders.

Largest in the world my arse. The half campus Meta just spent over 5 years building in DeKalb, Illinois is larger than that one coming to Louisiana.

And the next half of that project is already doing dirt work

The main problem this one in Louisiana is going to have is to man the job as far as construction workers. One of the worst environments, heat and humidity, in the whole country, and some of the lowest wage scales in the nation. Yeah, good luck with that. They're going to have to go straight to book 3 and 4, scraping the bottom of the barrel. But then, so many ignorant baws from this area have no real idea how bad they have it, since most never get out of this shithole to see how much better off so much of the rest of the country is. They'll be cutting each other's throats and sucking the GF's dick like crack whores for a $20 rock.

There's to much work in other parts of the country paying a frick ton more in wages and benefits.

Gonna be a shite show. Turner and Mortenson. Which sucks worse, LMAO.

Mhm okay

Meta anticipates its Louisiana data center will create 500 operational jobs and 5,000 temporary construction jobs, said Kevin Janda, director of data center strategy. At 4 million square feet (370,000 square meters), it will be the company’s largest AI data center to date, he added.

That's just the first half of the campus. The other half is coming

Do the math.

And the dirt work started on that one over 5 years ago. Aldrich was turning dirt then.
