That’s awesome. I lived like that a couple years post college. Was great

My dad still lives like this

He owns 2 houses in the BR metro and rents them out. He lives in Perkins Rowe and still has a maid clean it for him. He eats out every meal.

You say that but life is so damn hard to struggle alone. And by that I mean having someone who has your back, someone you can talk to about anything. As humans we need that. We need companionship. Or maybe that’s just me

It has nothing to do with who makes more money. It has everything to do with lifestyle. How often do you see women “marry down”? I know plenty that have married up but none that grew up middle class, private school, college paid for, to living paycheck to paycheck and sharing a car with their SO.

People tend to marry within their socioeconomic class is all I’m saying with women’s best chance at moving up by marriage. A motivated man can move up with decent intelligence and drive.

It will be something he will regret later in life... Well, at least the leaving his kids part. Obviously he was unhappy, which is not an excuse. Once you make the decision to have kids, you are responsible for them and if things are not working out, you suck it up and you do what's in the best interest of your kids.

If you are not happy in your marriage, be an adult and work out arrangements between each other, but don't leave your kids.

See if I ever get divorced, and I’m happily married by the way, I’m almost certainly never going to get married again. This is the way to go

My wife grew up a lot poorer than I did. She is definitely self made. Her parents are probably lower middle class I'd guess. I had a lot of advantages that she didn't.

I don’t think this it totally by intention alone. We meet people through family and friends or schooling. Most times we marry in our “class” due to that’s whats around us.

This is the kind of mindset that leads to divorce, and issues.
bullshite. My parents taught me and my late sister (RIP) that kids come first. It was something that was handed down to me, and I hand it down to my kids. My parents stayed married for 50 years, before my father passed away. A couple is not the same once the kids are born, and it takes a lot of working together until the next phase, where the kids move out on their own.

What leads to divorce and issues cannot be wrapped up in one package statement like that. There are tons of different angles and flaws.

quote:

It sounds selfish
It is the 100% perfect opposite definition of the word selfish. Selfish, meaning, to think of "self" and "self" only. To say that it's your legacy is not pissing all over your wife and making it just you, yourself's legacy. When you say "your" it's the same as saying "you and your wife". If you want to get exact about it, you and your wife are one. You say as much when you say your vows.

All of that is nice but at the end of the day you and your partner still have to like each other and have the same goals and interests after the children have gone. People change and if your focus is solely on your children when they leave you could be looking at a stranger across the table.

I believe my wife was making a penis reference.

But I gotta say that Owlie has really been working out. And it can't be easy with all of his caravan duties. Arriba, abajo, al centro y adentro.

It’s called “content”.

It’s the key to Lord Poultry maintaining his extravagant lifestyle with the proceeds derived from TD’s popularity.

I’d have done well as a writer at a Pulitzer paper.

When are deadbeat dads/fathers who have nothing to do with their kids be held with the same regard?

I already hold them in worse regard. Nothing lower than a man who abandons his family.

If you marry the right one, y'all are both on the same page about this anyway.

Absolutely. At least, I would hope we do.

I mean come on, just because you say "my children come first" doesn't mean I shite all over my wife. I mean, let's use a little common sense here. I think this is where you and that other guy are getting hung up. It isn't just and "either/or" thing. There is an "and" behind the scenes of that statement.

Have you studied Trump!s kids?

Yes, he’s divorced twice, but he very much stayed a part of his kids’ lives.

Quite frankly, he’s kind of the poster child for the way most want it to be now.
