downplaying the importance of masculinity and a man’s impact as a husband and father can be directly linked to the downfall of Western civilization.

The problem is that we accept anecdotal ‘evidence’ to prove theory. Couple that with the acceptance of cherry picking statistics and the ability to spread ‘proven theories’ like wildfire on social media and the web in general, and now we have a bunch of misinformed assholes locked onto issues that are backed up by ‘facts’

The guidelines actually report that "stoicism and self sacrifice" are positive aspects of "traditional masculinity" and offers guidelines on how to encourage those traits
but of course, Fox News isn't going to include that in their little article
they didn't even offer a link to the actual report

What is the alleged purpose of the article? If it is to increase the welfare of men and the larger welfare of society the mention of the philosophy of stoicism ought to be 98% positive.
Anyway aggression is present in both men and women- it just manifests differently. So I would dispute that as a masculine characteristic.
Lumping it into the category of traditional is also either misleading or dumb depending on whether the authors either failed to consider biology or (more likely) chose not apply what they normally know about biology to behaviors which are linked to sex. A reasonable person really should not lump things into biological categories without being prepared to start out with a real discussion about the importance of biology.
The concept of traditional masculinity also seems like a boogeyman to lump concepts into good or bad categories. Aggression and competitiveness are traits that provides people necessary tools to make themselves able to stand up for themselves and their families. Without aggression and competitiveness women don't find men interesting.

Most of those "researchers" categorically reject the idea that biology has an impact on behavior and differences between the sexes.
