I suffered through an absolute shock when I took some graduate courses in public health recently. It took me a while to understand the roots of where this crazy stuff came from but I was eventually shocked to realize it really does come from a bunch of people who ought to know better and have abandoned their stated reasons to be academics or in universities.

The intellectual rebranding of marxism into identity politics with the tools of facists is something people should take at least as seriously as the component of the right wing who are too comfortable with white nationalists or outright white supremacists.

All of this terrible (if not outright evil) stuff is being pushed through universities as if it was good or even well considered.

I do not watch Fox News. I would never have voted for Trump because of his obvious corruption (perhaps among other reasons). But after my own observations I am convinced of the wrongness of these people. I am convinced they are driven by ideology. I am convinced they are spoiled authoritarian narcissists who are causing significant harm in a lot of different ways.
