to be materialistic goes against their entire message. They should be leading by example on how to live modestly and be charitable.

Is it a crime to drive a new car? Maybe he had a second job.

and from that I assumed you should give it all away to more needy people. That is what Jesus did.

Probably just testing it out before he buys the i8.

Keep fleecing the flock, brother!

maybe that's your cynical perception of being a dick.

jesus was also a carpenter
starved for 40 days
nailed to cross

multiplied bread and all kinds of shite.

That bread was loaded with carbs and sugar.

So we hate this guy because the church leases him a car that is probably under 300/month, and requires a charging station that was mostly paid for by a grant?

preacher to pull up (he was late) and I kid you not he pulled up in a brand spanking new Jaguar. I was floored. When I asked my gf's mother about it she shook her head and said, "Well, they just love their pastor."
Are you sure that he didn't have another job? Many small church pastors have another full time job.

I'm usually the first to chastise this sort of crap, but this seems very meh-worthy.

This is one of the least troubling "OMG Megachurch Pastor Did Something!" stories I've seen.
Hippie evangelical church spends a grand on a charging station, and the pastor leases a fairly inexpensive electric car?
Oh heavens

What if the appearances of a pastor being successful draws more people into the church and congregation and ends up saving more lives than had he bought his clothes from TJ Maxx, live in a motel, and never shaves cause razors are too expensive.

It isn't that extravagant, really.
It is just seems wasteful to install charging station.

Look man, if you like your preacher balling in the pulpit that is your choice. I'm just pointing out that Jesus teaches us to live in modesty. The church is a non profit organization that should serve its community.
