You mean like Tolkien himself said in his own words that this is exactly what he did?

whenever the headline of an article sounds like a 19 year old journalism student lecturing down to the masses I refuse to read even a word of the article

This is just Amazon proxies in media informing you of the upcoming failure that will be their adaptation of devout Catholic JRR Tolkien’s work.

I look forward to them fricking it up worse than they fricked up Wheel of Time.

I’m going to watch the first episode just to see who they made a tranny. My money is on Pippin.

Exactly.

This is the epitome of “an article/op Ed that absolutely no one asked for”

Well to be fair that's probably at least 50% of what constitutes "journalism" these days.

A. Anyone can post drivel on Medium.

B. Regardless of the books, the movies were terribly boring.

Are you daft? It’s obviously Gollum.

He was born a normal hobbit named Sméagol, but due to the unholy influence of an evil ring, he was corrupted and turned by dark magic into a corruption of his natural self. Now he is a hideous mockery of God’s creation, smelling of foul rot and dead fish.
His warped mind deteriorates, and in the end, he kills himself in the pursuit of something he can never truly gain.

This guy missed ten years ago when bloggers were famous for being against everything. "Blah, blah, blah, I'm a bitter twenty year old college student hating Bible College and now everyone needs to hear about it."

Can't be any lower than the Jews, who have her boiling in excrement throughout eternity in the Talmud.

Back on topic, this a-hole likely knows what Tolkien was doing in writing LotR. He knows full well that he's wrong. He's just letting anyone who gives a damn know that the work is being retconned into devious, woke garbage. He's rubbing your nose into it.

What a poor excuse for a journalist. I agree with the person who wrote in the comments that there is so much wrong in the article that it could be taken as trolling.

Too easy. Not enough woke points to be earned. They’re going to mock his works by forcing wokeism down your throat using a beloved character like Pippin.

Uhhhhhh….does this guy know who Eru Iluvitar is? I’m guessing he’s never actually read the books.

It absolutely is a Christian piece of work. The trannies and furries can melt all they want.

Reminds me of Ray Bradbury stopping appearing on college campuses due to students and professors getting into arguments with him about what "Fahrenheit 451" was about. They would talk and talk about censorship, when he said it was about how mass media was making people so stupid that censorship would eventually be unnecessary.

This theme showed up indirectly in the Rodney Dangerfield movie, "Back to School":

"Next time I call Robert Ludlum!"
