What a ridiculous comparison.
Noticing a familiar media and public health pattern is not the same thing as building an elaborate QAnon corkboard out of red string and schizophrenia like what happened on the PT. Nobody needs “hidden messages” to remember what happened five fricking years ago. People watched the media hype cycles, the daily/weekly expert contradictions, the constant mission creep, and the social pressure campaign in real time. That is called memory, not delusion.
Also, spare me the smug “seeing things that are not there” line. Some random idiots online always overreact. Fine. The internet is full of morons. That does not somehow make all sarcasm, distrust, or eye rolling equivalent to conspiracy brain. You are taking the dumbest comments you can find, inflating them into the whole phenomenon, and then congratulating yourself for knocking down the straw man.

Possible.....
May.....
Might......
Could......
Potentially......
Seems I've heard these words before.
Kinda like:
...three weeks to slow the spread.....
...six feet for social distancing....
...church is unsafe, but protests are fine.....
All according to "experts."

can we not point them out and mock them when they do it on the OT? because that's what we are doing

Except it’s not the experts using the weasel words really.
All of the headlines that have them to make it sound more attention grabbing. If you actually read the articles they all have quotes reaffirming there is no reason to think there is a problem or risk of pandemic.

Shhhhh.
Go easy on him. For some reason he’s too emotionally engaged to realize his flawed argument. I guess he feels attacking the fringe loons comes too close to attacking things he does believe in, and he projects some of his viewpoints on them.

by all means, attack the guy who read the headline, laughed, and posted “running to Costco to stock up on TP now”. Whatever helps.

Have I done that? Why can't you have an honest discussion about this?
Or do I mock posters like the OP? Who would rather us go into lockdowns and be able to say "told you so" than for this to be out of the headlines by next week
Pirate King sprinted to this thread to post that DailyMail headline without reading any further because he wants bad news

Shhh indeed. That’s usually what people say when they’re trying to smuggle in a dumb point comparing the “2 weeks behind Italy” comments to elaborate Q-conspiracies.
Calling someone emotional and tossing out phrases like “projects his views” while whispering from the sidelines because you’re too spineless to address me directly or defend your dumb comparison is one hell of a self own. Well done.

could be. could also be a need for attention or to start conversation/drama. which is my assumption for the mixed upvote/downvote ratio.
Which i addressed early in a reply to ‘87

Really, really bad juju level contagious during an election cycle.

if that’s PK’s true motivation, then fire away bud.

It's especially contagious in voting precincts and polling stations.

I had an expert tell me once circulating at the end of the well was a waste of time.

We are all going to die unless we lockdown the world and completely cancel everything.

Then, death it is because I'm not going through that again. The world, and our students, and our elderly, and pretty much everybody else cannot afford to go through that again. What is the point of life if these bastards can just shut it down every once in a while and destroy all that is good.

Lockdowns are coming. Prepare accordingly
