Just one bulb.

I can't believe people pay for this stuff.

Were you expecting him to do it for $23.68?

What kind of vehicle? I had to replace the headlight on my 2013 Silverado a while back and I'll never do that shite again. I'd pay twice what they were asking just to not have to do it myself. Damn near have to take the entire front end apart.

You realize that most people don't have a clue how to change them bulbs? That's probably the going rate for 20 minutes.

This is one of my favorite re-occuring threads on the OT.

Like any tradesman or professional, a mechanic's time is valuable. He has overhead to pay and opportunity cost. Sure there are some crooks out there, but if you ask him to do really simple shite that you could have done yourself, he's going to charge you the shop minimum. Would you go to the emergency room for a papercut?

I would pay that to change a headlight in a VW. Pain in the arse.

If you can't believe it.... why the hell are you taking it to a mechanic to replace in the first place?

how much is 20 minutes of your time worth?

I could send like 30 emails from the waiting area in that time.

On Amazon, you can opt to have professional installation on a lot of items such as ceiling fans and door knobs. I could not believe people would pay for this but I started thinking, there are a lot of people I know that do not know which side of a screwdriver to hold.

It’s like you don’t understand the concept of labor cost and expect mechanics to work for free.

he may in fact be a weenus, but in his defense, changing the light bulb on certain suburbans is a bitch. I might opt to weenie out and let the dealer do it too after fixing my sister's suburban.

People never get mad at walmart or academy about their prices.

But as soon as you hit someone with a bill.

I'd have paid it on my old Infiniti. You had to take damn near half the engine apart to change the driver's side headlight. Most idiotic design ever.

This is the type of reasoning that people in restaurants question why a steak at Ruth Chris costs $50. "But...But...I can buy a ribeye at Winn Dixie for $13?"

yes, i want to punch my wife everytime her bulb goes out. True story, infiniti dealerships want $300 for a $30 bulb and that's not including labor install.

It was a courtesy inspection while they did an oil change.
