And that is the culture that liberals are so excited about importing up here.

Awful. I didn't see any small children in the vicinity of the fire. Please tell me these folks kept the children away.

I'm not sure how they thought it would end any other way.
Theyve been doing it for yrs, so this time it went wrong. They'll do it again i'm sure.
They have towns with no gasoline. Shortages are now starting to hit the capital. The gov is telling people not to fill up, and that'll help.
Anyone surprised by this is oblivious to how MX is, and other countries. why trump says what he does, but ignorant people just have no clue what we are letting poor over the border at over 6-figures a year. But hey it's immoral right??

A lot more pictures including one in the afternoon of the locals and the festive atmosphere as they gathered to collect their fuel. Well, it wasn't really their fuel, but they were actively gathering it, anyway.

In Nigeria, it's a 1500 mile pipeline. Let's just say that the measures they are going to take with the technology I'm supporting are "with extreme prejudice".
These taps and damage cost an average of $7-$9 billion a year in lost revenue, repairs and environmental damage. Hell, those people even go to the lines off the coast and tap in within days of it being laid. Then turn right around and sell it back to the owners. It's nuts crazy.

Did not read article but just returned from Mexico; very saddened to see this.
Govt in Mexico forced fuel shortages in certain parts of the country due corruption and embezzlement.
This is a direct action by the people to get what they needed in order to maintain their livelihood etc.
Sad that this happened but the government forced a crisis on everyone and anyone that was down there including me and my family.

Are prices that high there (or shortages that bad)?
I just returned from Aguascalientes on Friday. Apparently the President has shut down the pipeline through that area due to the siphoning of gas, until they can figure out where it’s happening (guess now they know) basically creating the shortage. Gas prices have been on the rise there and is now about $3.50/gallon ... doesn’t sound horrible until you consider the standard wages there. Manufacturing assembly workers make like $20/day.

IMO, that's the definition of desperate.

The tragedy came just three weeks after new President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador launched an offensive against fuel theft gangs that have drilled dangerous, illegal taps into pipelines an astounding 12,581 times in the first 10 months of 2018, an average of about 42 per day.
Damn

Maybe they wouldn't have gas shortages if they would stop tapping into the pipelines.
Right? They wasted FAR more gas than they collected.

Which is why most come across the border and overstay their visa. TX is full of them, LA had many gutting their homes after the flood.

I watched a documentary on this... seems the cartels are doing it more and more. I'm sure the cartel guys, with their money, have knowledgeable hands doing it. These guys must be amateurs.

Yea they probably have a legit hot tap crew doing it for them. If you did it right you could easily do a hot tap and have a regular ol fuel hose coming out the ground and just charge a flat fee per fill up
I mean I dont know the recipie or anything I'm just saying
