It's an even richer statement knowing that the "facts" would've come out long before what's going on right now if the first two DAs and Glynn County didn't try to cover it up for months.

I think it's pretty prevalent everywhere, whether it's active or passive racism. I think passive racism is more prevalent and harder to see because it's so ingrained in our society.
I don't think we'll ever get rid of all racists, but that doesn't mean we can't try to change minds.
I'd start by calling out people on this board who roll their eyes and say things like I initially quoted because it may not be what some people think we need to hear today or that it may "fan the flames."
It's only fanning any flames if you are the one who's lighting the match. We need to look in the mirror and decide...Do I face this uncomfortable truth now and speak out on it or do I turn the other way and stay silent or actively go along with it, because if you stay silent on it, you may as well join up with those who are aligned with that way of thinking.

I think a good starting point is calling real, blatant racism like this by its name.
No whataboutism or pretending like their could be a magical fact to give context to calling someone a "f***ing n-word" as they lay dead.
Just acknowledge really bad shite for what it is. Not everything is as blatant, but you can't have nuanced discussions if you aren't willing to be direct about the obvious stuff. It's not everything, but it's an important first step.

But since 2016, the number of police shootings have gone down. That’s really the point I’m getting at. Not that I believe the McMichael’s aren’t racist. If this is true; than they definitely are.
