re: Have tons of Okra. What can I make? - kage
They're great sliced lengthwise and roasted until crispy in the oven, with salt and pepper
I do this but saute them. Olive oil and saute over medium heat for about 6-7 minutes. Add salt and pepper and then sesame seeds with about 2-3 minutes left so they'll toast up a little bit....

re: Apparently Gary Patterson dropped the n word with a hard r - kage
Again with the contradiction. Either the context and use was wrong or it was not. - called a man that is black that =issue. - he did not do that.
You're missing the forest for the trees. It does not matter the context in this case in which it was used. He shouldn't have sai...

re: Apparently Gary Patterson dropped the n word with a hard r - kage
Its a word .... he didn't call anybody by that word. Nothing wrong with it. Period.
Come on man. He should not have said the actual word. I don't think him using it makes him a racist due to the context in which he was using it, but he should have used better judgement and not sa...

re: What will you do with the $ and time saved this fall? - kage
Take my two boys camping. Fall Saturdays are perfect for camping in N Ga, but seeing as how college football is played on Saturdays, that puts a kink in that. The youngest will be just old enough that he can do overnight trips. ...

re: Updyke passed away - kage
Dont give him the satisfaction
I don't think he'd be getting any satisfaction at this point, but I get where you're coming from. He's gone. We can't change what happened. Let's just collectively move on. My take on it is that I actually felt sad for the guy. He lived such a ...

re: COVID-19 at Auburn - kage
92% of Covid deaths are in people over 55. These athletes will be fine.
It's not all about deaths. It's about what is now happening to people after recovery. https://www.statnews.com/2020/07/27/covid19-concerns-about-lasting-heart-damage/ From this article(and the study is f...

re: COVID-19 at Auburn - kage
That is interesting, I've seen a lot of anecdotal reports that tie to blood clotting, blood pressure, and even blood types. At first I was thinking that different strains were responsible for the severity of damage, but it almost seems like it's more related to individual immune system res...

re: COVID-19 at Auburn - kage
I get what you're saying, but per the CDC, from October through March there were as many as 62,000 non-COVID flu deaths in the United States. Obviously every life is important, but at the same time the response has to be commensurate with the risk, especially considering the known effects ...

re: COVID-19 at Auburn - kage
You're right, under our current bs regulations there is no chance football is played. However, if sanity returns sometime between now and September and people stop watching CNN and acknowledge this is essentially the flu, or even more mild, for the vast majority of the population then we w...

re: COVID-19 at Auburn - kage
It can kill, but at a very low rate in comparison to number of people being infected. The young athlete will be the least likely to succumb to the virus.
This is true, however more and more studies are showing the after effects of this to be serious too - i.e. heart issues, bl...
Talked to my wife a hour or do ago. The hospital she works at is now over capacity with covid patients.
So I think there are other factors that may be involved and it will be interesting to see what the peer reviewed studies have to say as we go along.
I'm hopeful these are just short term issues, but there may be longer term problems for those that have had it. This article from ...

re: Herd immunity is gaining fast traction, peaking now... - kage
Mississippi governor, Tate Reeves, tweeted about herd immunity two days ago. Thought it was interesting to see this coming from a pretty staunch, Trump supporting, conservative governor. 1) "Let's talk about herd immunity. I've listened to some people argue that the rapid spread of cases is a go...

re: Visible comet - kage
While not a comet, you can often see the space station go overhead on clear nights(or very early morning's if you're up) Put your zip in on this site and it will tell you when it will be going overhead. It will tell you the max height in degrees - anything less than about 45 is hard to see due t...

re: Has anyone else been positive for Covid? - kage
We have some neighbors down the street that had it right at the beginning in March. Their kids had it, but not bad for them. The adults had it rough though. Sister in law had it pretty bad. 33 and healthy, so I'm assuming maybe she has something underlying we don't know about, or has a blood ty...
He and the CDC was saying no mask at first, he and WHO were saying it wasn't airborne, now it's airborne and everyone is required to wear masks.
Still to this day I don't know a single person that has or had the virus and I know a lot of people. I've heard rumors of someone's cousin or a friend of friend getting it but no one I know has tested positive. I had a family friend that passed this month from Covid related respirator & card...
& move the SECCG game back a week or 2 to allow for any make up games needed due to the corona.
Just go ahead and move it to March because it's gonna take twice as long to play a season. What happens when we're in week 3 and 10 players test positive? Is the whole team quarantined...

re: Looking ahead. Season is not going to happen. So now what? - kage
I know the NCAA has come out and said they need students to be on campus to have football, but not sure about SEC. I don't see any possible way that you're going to get 10, 20 and 30+ thousand students on these campuses in another month or so with the levels we're seeing. ...
