A McDonald's employee working at a store in Savannah, Georgia, was sentenced to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to lighting a fire inside a dumpster to clear out customers because the restaurant was overcrowded.
Joshua Daryl McGregor, 34, was working at the restaurant on 2701 Montgomery Ave. in April 2023 when he became frustrated that the store was too busy, the U.S. Attorney's Office said in a press release.
six years from now he's going to be working at popeyes

He also filmed the fire with his cell phone and posted the video on social media.
McGregor was training to be a manager at the establishment.

Not smart. If you look like that and a fire is lit in the dumpster you are the first one they are gonna question.

5 years for a dumpster fire, there are people getting probation for killing people in this country, wth.

I think the give-aways were him filming it and then up loading it to social media, then forgetting to erase the store video of him starting the fire.

Is it normal for arson like this to be a federal case?

I think that they are using him as deterrent, before Arkansas and West Virginia's football seasons begin.

Yeah that seems really harsh.
Why didn’t he just play his white privilege card?

"Joshua McGregor will have substantial time to ponder his post-prison employment options."

Are dumpsters considered health care workers or is it considered discriminatory denial of housing for the homeless?

I’ve never seen a white person work at a McDonalds
At least not in NOLA/Metairie/Kenner/Westbank
