It's a hell of a lot. But they deserve whatever people are willing to pay.

This. Couldn't sleep, found a link to it that worked and watched it. Otherwise, I was not wasting a $100 on that shitfest.

If I wasn't camping, that's what I would've done. Though considering there was a festival downtown last weekend, I probably still wouldn't have watched it. I didn't care enough to pay for it.

Don't you know it's only stealing when it's something tangible that you can feel or play with?
You're being sarcastic, but this is essentially correct. Piracy is a form of copyright infringement, not theft.

Those people never would have bought it. So the lost revenue is misleading

No, the only way to stop it is to stop broadcasting it altogether. You cannot prosecute away the piracy hydra.

That shite wasn't even worth me finding a stream to pirate--much less pay $100 for.

Thank you OT for the periscope links. Otherwise I would have just passed out drunk and not got to see what I knew was going to happen!

There is going to be some shakeout and adjustment. I think the whole PPV model will change in the next year or two.

the issue is they are about 5-10 years too late on any adjustment

instead of making reasonable packages or offering different options back then, the cable companies/PPV models kept charging more and more...

so because of this many, people just said "frick it" and decided to pay $0

NOW, that its such a huge issue, its going to be hard to get people to go from $0 to $30 when they could have gone from $60 to $30 five years ago BUT chose not to

The people who pirate PPVs were NEVER going to pay $89 or $100 for it.
