Auto theft/burglary are significantly higher in 2019. No doubt.

Car burglaries are a damn epidemic in BR too.

There was a statistic dump in the last month or two showing that murders were down, but shootings were about the same.
Something is really off with the local crime statistics and I don't think they are close to being accurate. There have been multiple incidents in my neighborhood recently where there was a car jacking/robbery where no report was made by officers and the officers eventually showed up to tell the victim they would be back later or send someone else to write a report.
Also, when the zoo has multiple cars hit, I'm fairly certain NOPD does not record these as individual events.
Mitch Landrieu was the master at controlling the narrative in this city and he put his stamp on collecting and manipulating the crime stats. That legacy has continued.

They record multiple car break ins at the same time as one individual event. I had my truck window smashed in and 3 of my neighbors cars all at the same time and they recorded it as one incident. This happens all the time.

I'm hearing there were many illegal guns removed from people on and around Bourbon Street this weekend. Will these people be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law or are we more concerned with the number of inmates?
There was zero regard for law enforcement by the shooter.

That's a false narrative that will spread because it sounds right

none more anywhere else than Portland. Some fricked up loophole in the books to where in the county, if I were to steal your car out of your driveway..and a cop sees it..all I have to say is that you said I could borrow it when I needed it.

And they cant pursue if you arent there to say otherwise.

Yep, problem is that here..they get a lot of hobos from Vancouver, Washington which is just across the river. They come here, do they theft and then hide out across state lines and whatever else.

It's almost as if they are encouraged to come here because of the bottle exchange. They have tent cities here, people putting tents on the sidewalk on 4 ways. If a driver fricks up at any time..getting ran over in a tent where you cant even tell what's happening doesnt seem like the ideal way to check out imo.

If it were me, I'd try to get close to the river. Invest in a fishing pole and hunger/water is solved.

There is water pouring into the streets all over the city coming from leaking pipes below the streets.

There are lights out all over the place.

The police have a horrible response time.

They are going to be taxing people into oblivion over the next 4 years to fix what should have never been broken
