The source told WDSU Investigates that first-class was the only seat available on the trip, and that Cantrell paid the additional $130 to cover the cost of the upgrade to first-class from the economy ticket.

I'd do this too.

She knows no one is going to do anything about it

They wanted $106 ATL-STL but I have to drive to BFE after landing, so I'll keep my unlimited legroom coach seat. Don't need the food/hooch that late at night

It would be crazy if something happened that only impacted people in first class. Like if a flight attendant was dealing with some assholes in first class and she had enough and decides to poison all of first class food and they all get real sick or some shite.

I would buy her any ticket she wants as long as it is one way.

They don't care, the majority of registered voters in NO didn't even vote. I remember looking at the results of her last election and estimating that more than 50% of her votes probably came from people who work for the city.

Was it an upgrade? If so, that means she already had a ticket. If there were no economy tickets for sale at the time, how could she possibly know the difference in price? I’d be interested to see the methodology her team used to arrive at $130. But we all know she’s lying, so it just doesn’t matter.

That and black people only vote for black people. So if there's a black person who runs against a white person there really isn't any point in voting in 'chocolate city'

By the way....When Mitch was mayor did anyone scrutinize his flight records? People are saying shes abusing it, but what has she done differently than other mayors of NOLA?

I fly United 1st from Houston to SFO and back frequently, usually book my tickets less than a week before the flight, and I've never seen economy sell out faster than 1st. I've also never seen less than a $299 difference in fare cost between economy and 1st. And if it's booked last minute, 1st is usually way more expensive than economy. Someone thought up a very poor excuse for the mayor. It reeks of deceit.

Btw I don't care about the food and "status"... I have major flying anxiety about takeoffs and the larger seats in 1st help me feel less claustrophobic, less panicky and I have been able to cut my flying anxiety medication in half. If you have flying anxiety,
It's worth it to pay the extra $$$ to "upgrade" and actually be able to somewhat enjoy the flight. I'm also allergic to some perfumes and being stuffed in the back of the plane with 200 other people's cologne, perfume and Axe spray turns into a 4 hour cough fest for me, which was especially fun during covid getting all the evil eyes from other passengers who thought I was sick. It's much better when I'm only surrounded by 15 other people and don't have to walk past rows of perfume to get to my seat. I sat next to a pilot on one flight and he didn't even want a meal, he said the benefit for him was extra space and comfortable seats on a 4 hour flight. I like sitting next to pilots. Makes me feel safer.
