Well one thing is for sure -- if she continues to be seen in public with Dumb Chauna, her chances of defeating St. George will decline drastically. There simply isn't a better saleswoman for St. George than Dumb Chauna.

Can someone answer this: if you're a middle to upper class family living in the St george area why wouldn't you support the St George redistricting?

Because your property taxes may go up and ebr schools will block you access to their magnet schools including BR high. you take a leap of faith that the new school district will be good on day one or send your previous magnet school kids to privates.

this is the counter argument that I don't necessarily agree with but is a legitimate concern of those against.

You've adopted other people's children? You're raising them in your home, home schooling them, and providing a roof over their heads, I assume?

Hasn't there been threats that the State could decide not to accredit the new School system?

I believe one of the Local State politicians made this comment?

States don't accredit school systems that is under the purview of SACS. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't threats of withholding state funding back channeling somewhere somehow though.

Remembering post general election that even though King was a BJ political appointment, he was promised a high paying position in the Clinton Admin. had she been elected. And that anticipating that would happen, he stopped working for LSU & was just treading the political waters. Which he seems to be doing again.Noting, too, that all Broome preaches is how to "fix" the police problem here & says nothing about the other side of the fence, all the thugs & drug sellers that are in a constant battle with the police. She needs to walk down Plank Rd in the evening without a police convoy to protect her.

"strong safety"...can you give a lucid argument as to WHY you support the new mayor ? Similar to the Obama administration, she has had several opportunities to try and bring the parish TOGETHER...and yet, look where we are now !

The vast majority of upper class families are already in Baton Rouge. Upper class families are not going to send their kids to a mediocre public school, so why fight the traffic?

As property values rise in BR due to gentrification, poors are going to move to St George. It is already happening and it will only get worse if St George has a better school system than EBR. That means lower property values in St George to go along with the higher taxes to pay for the new school system and whatever else the St George council doesn't want to share with EBR.

If people really want to create a community with no poors, they should follow the Madison, MS blueprint. Move to the closest parish that doesn't already have a lot of development or poor people and create some extremely restrictive zoning.

Sounds like you'd have to move to the northern end of WBR. And it looks doubtful that anyone would do that.

I have absolute zero support for this mayor but I also have zero support for St. George. Using education as the forefront to incorporate a city while destroying the one that basically built the other says it all.

I don't know.

Sounds an awful lot like you're excusing her shitty hire to me.

Alexander and Broome are incorrect. St. George isn't splitting the city in two, St. George isn't in the city and only wants to form their own city which is their right unless they take that right away (which they are trying to do).

Alexander needs to watch himself.

This is the fricking mayor of BR and her criminal lackey. I can't quit laughing in a sad way for all of my friends and family that still live there.
