Yeah, that piece of paper is one of the most offensive things I've read in a long time. If the people that wrote that are affiliate with the mayor at all, it would be outrageous. That's the most racist shite I've read in a long time.

OK, for the sake of argument, let's admit we have a racist society.

My attitude isn't enough, so what am I to do? Give away my assets? Donate to the Broome campaign?

So white people benefited, but haven't blacks benefited too??? What am I missing here? And who is "suffering" now? Individuals perhaps, but don't tell me whites, Asians, latinos don't suffer because some unfortunately do whether its from being poor, abused, they are ill or whatever. All people and races suffer.

So if I benefit from "domination" I am responsible for "it"? How is that? I wasn't here when this nation was formed, I wasn't here during the Civil War, and while I was young there were Jim Crow laws, but I wasn't old enough to vote for those who passed these laws.

And if there is no such thing as black racism, that doesn't add up. How can one entire race be "perfect" and not racist; while another entire race is evil and racist? In fact whoever wrote that is guilty of racism because they are stereotyping two entire races of people here.

So if white racism is primarily the responsibility of whites, what are blacks supposed to do? Wait around to receive our donations, our tax money, what? If I were an independent black person and a free thinker, I would be very upset by this because there are a lot of good, hard working blacks out there who serve our community each and every day and they do make a difference.

If I understand correctly that this was written by those in Broome's transition team, I'd expect Ms. Broome to step up and down this racist propaganda. Why hasn't she done this?

I know why, because she supports this movement, and while she may not actually believe all whites are racists, and all blacks aren't; she believes there's enough white guilt out there for her to get to power and to maintain it.

Is BR(city) so worried that if SG became a city on its own that the revenues from the Downtown they so heavily invested in, and the rest of BR proper and the other unincorporated areas wouldn't leave enough money to run a good school system? SG is roughly 25% of the parish population wise? Is it more than 25% of the sales tax base? The property tax base?

I'd like to see the numbers.

I'm sure the opposition to an unincorporated area trying to become a city is just from an altruistic motive of togetherness.

Has nothing to do with trying to stick it to the white people.

Rep. James is trying to block the St. George movement by letting NBR screw the vote up.

He tried the exact same bill in 2014 and it never made it to the floor for a vote.

Is it confirmed that is from her transition team? If so, my prediction of BR=Jackson in under 1 year is very generous. May God help us all, BR is done.

Actually Central and Zachary were proactive and got out of the EBR School System when they had the chance. It has helped their schools.

Whether or not their city has benefited is questionable. Central for one has had issues and I am not talking about from the flood.

Great statement, yes you would likely get better overall public schools even with losing quality at top end schools by losing access to the magnets.

However, their are other issues with being your own municipality that come into play over time, Central is dealing with a lot of these issues now. Some of it comes down to who runs the City, do you contract out gov't services, do you hire new employees, do you create your own development codes (subdivision, zoning, street standards, development incentives, etc.) or do you just use the current parish codes which may or may not work for your new municipality. Do you need to increase taxes to keep your current level of service? How much money will you have to pay back to EBR to cover debt services and already constructed improvements?

Schools are actually the easy part!

Yes, and I was reluctant to get behind the SG petition at first because I really wanted the ISD and not so much a new city, but we were told that was the process to follow.

But now with all of the money grabbing first from Holden and now from Broome and all the racial stuff, I've become even more hard core for the city.

Last time they had enough signatures, but many were convinced to withdraw their signatures and thus the petition movement barely failed. I think this time they will have more than enough.

Just to clarify, SG isn't proposing to leave anything. The area in not in the city limits of BTR and will not change the city limits of BTR in any way.

Is there a link to it anywhere?

Oh I love when Progressives "define" things.

It's real....and there's more.

That report should be an affront to every white citizen of Baton Rouge. It basically blames white privilege and racism for all of Baton Rouge's ills, even the crime and poverty issues in north BR.

No, it's not. I've seen it, I've read it, that's not in there.

At least not in a word for word sense.

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who knows what the Progressive agenda is.

You'll have plenty of guilt-ridden BR residents who would read it and agree. There were enough to vote it in.
