In other words they are hiring an Indian (dot not feather) call center sweat shop to do the testing. Got it.

If all you do is smoke weed and play video games, while this seems easy, their not gonna be a productive or helpful for the company as they were probably thought of

All the employees at the BR campus worked strictly on Apex Legends, and I believe part of what would've been the Apex Legends mobile spin off, which got shut down.

Replaceable job? Absolutely. It's shitty to have people call in on a morning Zoom meeting on their personal devices to be told they're being told they are fired, get 60 day severance pay (even though most employees weren't contracted long enough to receive that many days worth of severance so they won't make that much) and be told you can come grab your shite under security supervision as if you're going to try and do something to the place.

EA sucks and has sucked for awhile. I have no doubts that the writing might have been on the wall, but they could've done something else to keep the QA testers around. From what I remember, it used to be strictly an EA Sports campus. I'm guessing after EA acquired Apex, they decided to focus on that here. Hopefully EA gets the hell out of the building.

CSB warning -

I once got a meeting with the head guys over there. We were bidding on a contract to build a video game style simulation to help the US Army train medics. Contract had a $10 million initial ceiling with additional years making it worth up to $100 million. I felt pretty strong going into the meeting. Their part was going to be super easy as it would dovetail right into their existing tech.

It went well until I told them the Y1 ceiling. They basically showed me the door. If those dudes won't even talk about $10 mill for some light lifting, they have to be pulling down some serious jack.

Think one of these nerds had a heads-up and brought down LSU's internet yesterday?

And I bet that LSU subsidized some of the payroll for the student workers too.

The economy is really worse than media is letting on. And even the fired people will believe the media. I'm sure most are woke.

It’s just sad that you can dedicate your whole career to a company and then be fired over Snapchat

If anyone is looking for a Senior Gaming Engineer I can send you my resume

My employee is a former tester there. He was making $10.00 an hour a few years ago.

Funny you made this post about the employees being out of touch, only to find out you are the one that is out of touch.

This job paid less than fast food/walmart. The perks were the job was playing video games.
