Tons of ice up here this morning. I drove literally a tenth of a mile and almost got destroyed two separate times by ice skating cars. Turned my arse around and went home.

If the conditions are bad though they shouldn't be going at a rate of speed that requires that. This had to have been a fog and ice situation to have that many cars. People need to slow the frick down.

All that...and for what? So you’re not late for work? Stupidity

Chicago and Detroit are worse IMO.

It is nuts we are so conditioned we "accept" those conditions on a fairly regular basis. While the odds are still good, otherwise we would all be dead, the idea of trusting dozens of complete strangers with our safety and life is rather bizarre. Statistically one of them is almost certain to be drunk/high/buzzed/texting/half-asleep etc.

So, NOLA drivers but in DFW.....

Whew. My wife was supposed to go work in FW this morning but thankfully her bosses put a 2 hour delay on start time. She would have been in the middle of that.

Lol there is no way to safely drive on ice. Ice gonna win.
Really? I drove safely on ice Sunday from SW Kansas City to Wichita and that is after driving safely on snow and ice from Audobon, IA to SW Kansas City.
Ice is not an ideal driving surface, but it doesn't have to be dangerous.

That happened to me the last time we had that hard freeze in BR. And my boss gave me shite about it. And I will make sure this boss knows that if Monday and/or Tuesday is icy, I won't be in. frick that. I'm not unnecessarily risking my life to get to work.

The ice is pretty bad today.
It typically takes me 20 min to drive to work. Took me 90 today. Highways were closed all over.
Saw multiple people wreck on my way to the office.
It makes no sense to not close offices

The one time I was there it looked like I was driving in the Daytona 500. All bunched up in packs hauling arse.

Yea, if I almost get into two wrecks just driving across the intersection to get gas, it’s not worth it. Gonna wait till noon or so and see what the situation is like. Not worth the risk this morning.
