I hung a bug zapper in the yard, laid out a trash bag underneath it, sprayed the bag and surrounding area with termite poison. There's probably a thousand dead termites on it right now. F em

Was just over at good friends house, and they own a pest control company. They were several Formosen termites outside where the light was on, and they told me it's getting progressively worse each year all over BR. Best advice they gave me is turn off all your exterior lights at night and have house under contract where they come check once or twice a year.

It's definitely getting worse. I've spent a lot of years in the nola and BR areas and the last couple years here on the Northshore have been unbearable - way worse than I ever remember. Their populations grow unchecked. They don't have many natural predators here like they do in Asia.
Sometimes when I'm out driving in the weeks leading up to swarming season and I see a termite mound in somebody's yard I want to pull over and ask that person why TF they haven't set that shite on fire yet. Everybody do your part

Swarming in mandeville but pretty tame compared to a couple weeks ago

I feel like this thread is racist in some way.
Not racists. Not even that bullshite work "species-ist" either. These frickers are part a different phylum of the kingdom.
We have no obligation to offer them any form of mercy. I think they may even release green house gases. Every form of termite, just like those obnoxious giant hornets are enemies of humanity and the ecology. We should destroy them accordingly.

In Denham Springs...killed seven of them within a span of 15 minutes that were flying around the living room.

Where do you live? Some places don't get it bad. The swarms can be very mild in one town, but be a biblical plague 10 miles over.

Same thing happening in Ponchatoula

Swarming like crazy out here in Folsom.

I'm seeing the first swarm of the year in Tallahassee tonight too.

This is the time of the year...But especially after a good rain..

Found a nest of them in my garage yesterday. Inspector came today and found a few areas around the house. Getting treated Thursday but too late to avoid swarming tonight. They’re fricking everywhere. FML.

There are not "tens of thousands", there are millions, and they do this every year.

They are swarming in Prairieville as well. Just killed 4 in the bathroom and 4 more in the kitchen. The pest company came and sprayed for pests and did the whole termite inspection 2 weeks ago

Just spent an hour vacuuming up termites in my new house we just built (moved in in October). They were coming in through every crack in the base of my house, and through the door seal. I do t know if I need to yell at my pest control or my builder. I’m going to prepare for another round tomorrow. Bug zapper bear the back fence away from the house.

neither. those little frickers can fit thru a space the size of a credit card, even smaller if they are determined enough. Trust me, you aren't the only person getting swarmed and invaded.
